We purchased a Vellgoo 4500 Sq. Ft. Dehumidifier from Amazon. I was an excellent shopping experience. Following the manufacturer’s instructions, we set up the unit in the middle of our basement. When we started up the dehumidifier, it initially appeared to be working properly. Sometime within the first 24 hours, it shut down and could not be restarted. I emailed Vellgoo Customer Support and Emma responded within 24 hours. First, she apologized for our inconvenience and pledged to do their best to help. She asked that I try a few simple tests and send her the test results as well as a picture of the dehumidifier’s setup in our basement. I replied with both the test results and the picture. Since the unit would not start up, Emma explained that the unit’s electronics may have been damaged during transit. She asked whether we would like a new replacement dehumidifier (YES) and could we also return the current unit -- she would send us a prepaid shipping label (YES). Their technical people could analyze why it did not work properly. The replacement unit arrived in a few days. The whole process took a total of 13 days, including some slow responses from us during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. We set up the new dehumidifier in our basement and it has been working flawlessly for more than a week. I highly recommend the Vellgoo 4500 Sq Ft Dehumidifier. It has everything we were looking for in a dehumidifier for a large area. Vellgoo’s Customer Support (Emma) was more than 5-Star excellent! She was very concerned about our satisfaction. I purchased this dehumidifier in January of 2023. I applied for the additional one-year warranty which increased the appliance coverage to two years. I used the unit to dehumidify my basement and it worked extremely well for one year. For a dehumidifier, this product is relatively light and quiet. I was very satisfied with my purchase. Unfortunately, the unit stopped working a few weeks ago. Since I had a two-year warranty, I contacted their customer service. Vellgoo references their excellent service department, and I can tell you their team is indeed excellent! I contacted their service group via email and began to work with Mina. Mina was very responsive and within a few days, had already processed my claim and shipped me a brand new replacement dehumidifier! This was a wonderful experience and I'm very satisfied with the result. Mina was polite, responsive, knowledgeable and efficient. My emails were answered the same day. I would recommend the unit by itself, but I have to add that the manufacturer's service department is outstanding! Do not hesitate to consider this dehumidifier for your application! ... show more

Easy setup and nearly instant results - our ~2200ft house went from 65% RH to 55% in 24hrs. That is with the humidity being monitored by the thermostat on the other side of the main floor, and the bucket being emptied about once per day. This has resolved our issue of condensation on windows - previously our skylight would "rain" big droplets onto the living room floor and the sliding door would freeze shut. I ran the unit in the default "comfort" mode for the first month to see how well it worked and judge the energy consumption. It sits in a corner of the kitchen which has high humidity and high traffic between up & downstairs. It runs a lot but the noise is easily tuned out. Emptying once a day is fine, but I may elect to run a direct drainage line just because the full bucket is a little awkward to remove without some splashing. One other design nitpick is the water level indicator, it can be hard to read unless directly illuminated. Note that the directions suggest a huge minimum clearance to walls and other objects, but ours is in a corner with only a couple inches to obstacles on two sides, and it's working great. I have adjusted the setting up to 60% RH to save some money on the electricity bill; I can't say that the dehumidifier was the sole reason for my 18% jump in usage, but there were no other obvious reasons. Overall I am happy with the effectiveness and value of this purchase - a whole-home unit installation would cost well over $3,000. ... show more
