This product is advertised for outdoor with a photo of brick on the package itself. I received it today, attached one strip to my cinderblock wall, waited 15 minutes as advised and attached the other side to my potted plant. It looked like it was staying quite nicely but when I watered the plant to moisten the soil the strip immediately fell off with pieces of cinderblock with it? and broke my plant vase. ... show more

We wanted to hang a couple of decorative tin signs on our back porch, and struggled to find the right solution. Brick clips would require adding something to the backs of the signs in order to hang them, and they wouldn't be able to lay flat. Behold! Super-strong Velcro! Just the thing. I used this product to hang an outdoor sign on our front patio. I placed on the brick and seemed to work for a few hours but found the sign on the cement the next day. The sign is less than 10lbs and it didn’t hold it. As seen in pictures the Velcro can hold potted plants which made me think it could handle the sign but was disappointed it didn’t work out. ... show more

So, I've waited til it was a very bright, sunny day and it has been for several days. I just put all of them out and attached to a few items, including a fairly heavy battery (3-4 lbs maybe). I call it heavy, because before it wouldn't hold something half that weight. Now that it's dry outside, it will. I even had to pull it off the velcro this time. So, I'm going to order more actually. It kind of helps what I'm trying to do with my solar panels. Really cool. Gives me some great ideas. So, I'm changing to five stars and RECOMMENDING that you do not try to set these up in the rain or damp conditions (I set it up in damp conditions to test). Probably will still work in damp conditions, but if you're concerned about something dropping hard (a battery), secure it with other things also. -----------------------OLD REVIEW-------------------------- I tend to like this brand, but I was expecting something nice. I only used one so far. There was nothing wrong with it. I removed the adhesive to adhere it to a small solar panel I own, so I could stick up on something outside. I attached the other side to something outside. It was a little damp, but that's irrelevant. I cleaned it off. That wasn't even the problem. It literally would not stay stuck to the solar panel piece that weights maybe 2 lbs (I am being generous). This thing is supposed to hold 15 lbs. It never worked as it should have. I still have several left and I'll be trying it on other things as well, but for now I can't give this product a good review. I'll make sure to come back and change this review a bit if my opinion changes. I still have several to use up and I am sure I will try again. ... show more

I used these guys to replace the Velcro on my 16 year old Carhartt winter jacket. I cut them to proper length, put the two opposing pieces together, took off the tape protectors and set them in place. I waited for a few hours to let the glue take hold. I actually placed a board on the closed jacket to make sure the glue was set properly. I then opened the flaps and sewed the strips in place because I know the glue would not hold up under constant use. I’m no seamstress, so the sewing job looks like hell, but so does the jacket, but it’s 16 years old and nobody will ever make fun of you for wearing an old worn out Carhartt jacket. Try wearing a new on on a job site or out ice fishing and see the reactions you get. It’s a Carhartt thing. ... show more

The velcro side of this is pretty heavy duty. It should come with a warning though because you need to be careful what the hook side comes in contact with, like your carpeting, clothing, etc. But, I didn't notice how weak the glue side was for mounting until I actually tried to mount something. It's pretty worthless. I tried mounting a fiber optic modem to the side of my cabinet. Even with the cables hanging off it, it weighs maybe a pound. First time it fell down I thought I just mounted it wrong so I tried again and it fell down the next day. Then I tried some magic tape thinking okay, more glue the better but it fell down again. So then I tried some mounting strips that on their own are supposed to support 15 lbs. Nope, fell again. I figured this modem had enough abuse so I just stuck it to the side of the cabinet, without the velcro strips, and so far so good. The problem though is suppose I want to remove it to check the cables. This is a laminate surface like most furniture today and I'm not keen about stripping the laminate off which is why I chose velcro in the first place. My guess is that the velcro can hold up 15lbs but the glue won't so it's nearly worthless. Industrial strength velcro but glue strips that won't hold up 1 lb or less. Very annoyed with myself for not trying it out while I could still return it. ... show more

Like this product, the strips/velcro is strong, it will hold medium weight items like 3 pounds items, though not very heavy items, I tried to secure a outdoor mounted lamp to brick using the velcro strips, the lamp was too heavy .Everything else using the product has been great staying together , so overall I like this product. ... show more
