I ordered the "Amazon Choice" BCP gauge and found it to give questionable results. The BCP gauge indicated that I should order 6-40 screws for my project. When I ordered the 6-40 screws, they did not fit my project. I then watched the video for the Bolts and Nuts gauge and ordered it. The Bolts and Nuts gauge indicated I should have ordered (5-24). I may not know how to properly use the BCP gauge, but it does not appear to have a section to measure a 5-24 screw. It seems to only measure 5-40 and 5-44. It appears the Bolts and Nuts gauge is more flexible, plus it is able to measure nuts. ... show more

    • Thread pitch is basically useless
I wanted to like this because of its compact size, clear text, and range of sizes. But! The thread pitch is very slightly raised on the back and all but impossible to tell in comparison to your bolt. The side-by-side style has its uses but not when made from plastic and barely present. Can’t really do what you buy it for (unless that’s just sorting by diameter, and maybe length, alone. It's thin and portable. It would be better in metal but it is a nice addition. My other half loved it so much she took mine to work with her so I had to buy another one for me.
