  • Good quality
Color: Original version
Almost bought a cheap Chinese set but saw reviews that they were a softer metal. All it takes is the wrong person trying to prove the wrong thread size to ruin those. Paid a few extra bucks for this, but well worth it

I don’t know if there’s in between sizes or what but could find the right size for a hand full of bolts and nuts

  • Convenient Item

I have a kit with tagged bolts and nut. This is just something you can hang on a nail not taking up space and keeps in order. I’m happy with this.

  • Excellent set, but with one major flaw.
Color: Original version
This is an excellent set with all the most common thread sizes. However, it does have one major flaw. Since all the pieces are strung together on a cable to prevent losing them it makes using them very awkward as you have to spin the entire cable, and all the other pieces, around to thread them in. So I cut the cable and made a holder out of wood for them. This does make them more easy to lose but I have never lost a tool and take good care of them. This would be a 5 star item if they made a plastic box to keep them in and organized. Update: I finally designed a box and had it 3D printed. See last photo. ... show more

  • Fantastic invention with almost all of the common sizes.

Found this after thinking "Oh, I wonder if anyone has done this before." And Lo! Product works very well. In particular, the "internal thread" section (for checking screws/bolts) is deep enough to catch the difference between a 1mm pitch, and a 24 TPI pitch. Which leads me to my only significant complaint: #12-24 is missing! I've been told it's "not as common" anymore, which may well be true, but my 500x box of #12-24s I have from my 19" rack mounting days disagrees. There's actually a significant size gap between #10 and 1/4 inch. Importantly, a #12-24 can be easily mistaken for a M6. A #12-24 will fit rather loosely into a M6 nut, and the thread pitch is very close; a single nut's depth won't catch the discrepancy, which is why it's more important to have included #12-24 in the thread checker! Another brand of thread checker (from boltdepot) is also missing #12-24. It's a conspiracy, I tell you! :) In addition, some of the values printed can be a teensy bit hard to read, specifically where the paint application has been inconsistent. Since the stamping is very good, a bit of paint and a wipe with a solvent dampened rag addresses that perfectly. However, it isn't really needed... I'm just enthusiastic about good instruments. Nevertheless, I'm very happy with this. I can now OCD-like sort out my box of random screws with confidence (except for #12-24 :) ) ... show more
