I had similar issues that other reviewers did with functionality of this lock. I found that it does indeed work best on a door where your dead bolt fits cleanly and squarely into the bolt receiver. If you try to use this lock on a door where you have to jiggle it a little bit to get the deadbolt to lock you will find that the lock may not engage every time. The little motor in this walk just isn't strong enough to force the bolt in even if there's just the tiniest of obstructions. The good news is that with a little adjustment on my door I was able to square things up so that the bolt fully engaged with no interference and things were just fine now. As far as the overall lock functionality it's nice to have the fingerprint option. As you would expect it works best if you have no residue on your fingers so if you've been working on your car and try to use the lock it's not going to work well ... show more

The flush front that lights up the number pad with a simple touch is a great design feature. The lock looks really nice - no ugly number buttons showing all of the time. The fingertip reader place on top of the keylock is perfect. It is very simple to place your index finger or thumb on the reader. Other locks have the reader on the vertical surface and are mor awkward to use. I haven't had any issues with the reader, it always reads on the first attempt. The installation and use instructions are very good and complete. The only issue that I had was determining if the door was left or right swinging. This is described in three different locations, and only one of them makes this clear: when standing outside looking at the door, if the hinge is on your right, you have a right-handed door and if the hinge is on your left, you have a left-handed door. It doesn't matter if your door swings in or out. Use the optional Veise gateway to control the lock when you are outside of Bluetooth range. I purchased this gateway and am very pleased with the functionality that it provides. ... show more

Ordered this to replace an old broken keypad lock. This was easy to install minus one small detail. The lock has a small switch inside that you toggle to indicate left or right hand swing. The pictures in the booklet are a little confusing. If you stand in the door with your back to the hinges, whichever side of you the door is on is what “hand swing” the door is. Mine is a right hand swing, but the pictures in the book make it look like it would be a left hand swing. I toggled to the left, because I like to follow directions. The lock did not work in that position. Once I switched it to the right, the lock worked great. I love that you can use a key, keypad, keycard, or fingerprint to unlock. From the outside you can lock with pressing and holding the # key. So far it is working great and looks sharp too. Would recommend ... show more

I have a bunch of smart locks that I have gotten from Amazon, but this one here is heavy, solid, and just looks great! The finish on this is amazing, and it just seems to be a better quality than what I have seen (albeit the others are good too). This, however, is just a solid setup.

I have a smart lock on one door and wanted one for the other door. I love this one much better. There are so many features that make this lock useful and worth the money. I love the "peeping" setting where you can enter random numbers along with the correct code and the lock will recognize the code and unlock. I like that you can program time limited codes and one time codes. It all comes in handy when we need a dog walker or house sitter. Instructions are vast, but iffy. Do yourself a favour and use the app. SO much easier. The gateway is not expensive and gives you more functionality. Worth it, IMO. Blue tooth works well if not too far. The lock is beautiful, and seems standard as far as fitting. Not a complicated install. I set up all the codes etc before installing. Very customizable as far as codes etc. I can give the pert sitter a code and have it expire in 2 days. Love this so far! ... show more
