  • SMART SENSE KEYPAD Quick, secure access using the touch sensitive 4-digit Smart Sense keypad. A low battery indicator and tamper indicator are integrated into the keypad to provide feedback if the safe has been tampered with or if the backup battery power is getting low. Safe can detect tampering and activate a security sleep mode if multiple wrong codes are entered.
  • ANTI-THEFT FEATURES Signature anti-impact latch design, anti-pry construction, and included HD steel security cable can tether the safe in place. Accessory mounting plates sold separately for hard mounting in place.
  • The DS2e is the Essential Series version of the Smart Station. Based on the DS2i platform, the DS2e simplifies the overall design to essential functions. The safe features a 4-digit Smart Sense keypad and a functional front facing clock. There are also accessory charging ports, a single USB and USB-C port, on the safe's backside for accessory charging. The DS2e shares Vaultek's industry leading safe engineering and signature fit and finish, offering a fresh new variation for the Smart Station safe series.
  • BACKUP BATTERY Safe is powered by AC power adapter (included) and needs to be left plugged in. In the event of a power outage, 2 AAA batteries (not included) provide short term backup power. Manual backup keys are included.

    • Small flaws fixed in DS5i, love this safe though.
I have both the DS2i and DS5i. Love them both. High quality and very reliable. Con on the DS2i is i carry a small pistol, Sig P365, and a typical kydex holster. And you can't fit the gun in the holster as it's too wide. You have to unholster it and keep the holster next to the safe. My DS5i will allow the gun to be stored in the holster, there's just more depth. The Con of the DS5i is that it takes batteries and the DS2i has a built in battery. I don't like to think about changing batteries so I prefer the built in lithium battery of the DS2i. Overall though I am very happy with both safes and much better than the hornady nightstand safe I previously used. ... show more

So far, so good! This is a great safe. I've owned a few handgun safes, and this one blows the other two away. It is easy to operate and open. I like the fact that it has an internal battery. No more changing out double AAA batteries or forgetting to change them only to find out you're locked out of your safe and forgot where you put the key. Valtrek made it easy. If your power goes out or you lose power, the safe will be operable for a few days. It comes with an app that keeps access times long. That said, I looked at more affordable safes that do the same thing. This is for a handgun that I never use and only keep for home protection. With that, I wonder if I overpaid for something I'll never open. The size is nice—not too big, not too small. It fits perfectly on any nightstand. It pops/slides open quickly with the code or fingerprint. I don't know if it's worth the hefty price tag. I waited almost two years to purchase this with the 200-dollar credit card rebate during Prime Day with the 5% back. Prime Visa is one of the better credit cards out there, and I use it for all my purchases. In one week, I've already seen twenty-five dollars in savings! With my spending habits on Amazon, this card will pay for this safe in no time. ... show more

First, this safe lives up to high VaultTek standards. A couple of noteworthy things: 1. This is almost certainly just me as a user, but I can't figure out the wifi connection. Bluetooth is almost useless so essentially the vault (currently) does not communicate with my phone, something that was an important consideration for me buying it; 2. Internally, the vertical dimension is a bit tight. Specifically, my pistol has a slightly flared magwell. This is enough to prevent it from opening smoothly. To be clear, it will still un-lock but I have to physically pull the door open. This is only a minor issue but if they made it a few millimeters taller it would be perfect. It's done a great job keeping my handgun locked away safe. The Bluetooth features works amazingly i can unlock it with my phone, physical key, fingerprint, & passkey. It does a great job displaying the time , temperature & humidity of the room it's in. I can charge 2 devices through plug-ins in the back. The phone charging element on the top where you just lay your phone on to charge is a bit tricky to get it on there right without it constantly beeping from not being lined up right but not enough to make it a bad product ... show more
