For VASAGLE's industrial series, our designers have taken typical factory items as a model and converted them into practical furniture. A ladder, for example, served as a model for this shelf.In order to be on a par with industrial furniture in terms of functionality and stability, the shelving unit was equipped with an extra sturdy steel frame (20 x 40 cm perimeter). This supports the four durable particleboards and a total load capacity of 132 lb (60 kg).Slanted but straight While the ladder shelf leans against the wall at an angle, the narrowing shelf surfaces are flat and without an angle of inclination.Place flowers and books on them or use the ladder shelf in the kitchen to store food. I just got this delivered today. It took me about 45 minutes to put this together and that was only due to my inability to follow directions very well, lol. Once I got the shelves on in the correct position everything lined up and I was easily able to screw everything into place with the provided Allen’s wrench. I needed something to go over my baseboard and in between my bed and wall for my ever growing collection of books and divination cards. I love how this shelf took up minimal floor space and was able to work where the metal baseboard ran along the trim of the wall. The bottom shelf was high enough to clear the roughly 8.5” high baseboard and only took a small amount of floor space. The leaning aspect also saved space for a narrow section between my bed and wall allowing me to put a shelf system there when all other shelving units were too bulky and deep for this narrow area. For under $60 it’s metal rails and then wooden shelves seem to be of decent enough quality. The screw wholes in the shelves were metal reinforced so no cracking of the wood on the shelves happened whilst setting it up. The screw in footings also are nice because this allows adjustments to be made if the floor is a bit uneven. It sat flat against the wall and the footing pieces with the rubber cover grabs the floor allowing it to sit without sliding. It’s a well thought out design aspect adding those footings on it with the ability to adjust them with a turn left or right. Overall I’m extremely happy with my purchase and glad I chose this one over the many leaning shelf options on Amazon. Shipping was very quick as well. Everything came packaged nicely and protected so no damage to the item happened during shipping. All around 5 stars! ... show more

I purchased this for my office/podcast studio which I just had painted. I had a beautiful large painting and some other things to display and did not want to drill any holes into my freshly painted walls, so this shelf is perfect! I added this ladder to my work office, and it was just what I needed. The shelves are wide enough to add a printer on a shelf, as well as some Decour on the others. So far it has been holding up really well.

The bones of the product are actually really good. The rails of the "ladder" and the support seats are sturdy enough to hold some substantial weight, and the supplied shelves are made of some seriously hard wood (no pun intended). Where this (and most other ladder shelf units at this price point) drops the ball is in the length of the shelves. At 2 feet, they're just too narrow. Unfortunately, if your going for the leaning ladder shelf aesthetic but also need some serious shelving length, you'd have to drop anywhere from 300 to 500 bucks to get one from a boutique store like Crate&Barrel$$$ and Article$$$. I certainly haven't found long shelved units at this price point. BUT thankfully, as I mentioned before, the bones of this particular ladder shelf are good enough to let me improve upon it! A few measurements and some cuts of hardwood for $40 and at the local home improvement store is all I needed, and I fancied a ladder shelf for 140 bucks total that puts the 300-500 dollar ripoff ones to shame! Pictured here is the same product, but the with my custom shelves that are 4 feet in length. The ONLY knock is that the the rungs can dig into the wall at the top because of the sharp edges. So I'd invest in a wall protecting plastic (like the ones used for door knobs) to avoid that. ... show more

I like the shelf. It is study and seems to hold some weight. The only thing I would critique, is the space in between the shelves. For me in particular, I wanted this shelf for my plants. I couldn’t put all of the plants I wanted on the shelves because, my plants would be too cramped. As long as you don’t have anything too big, you should be ok! For the assembly, it was pretty simple. The label all the shelves and screws, as well as give you a thing to help screw the bolts in, in case you don’t have a screwdriver or drill. I used everything that was provided. While it was overall simple, read the instructions and look at the pictures closely. At one point, I did need a second person to help me hold it up, so that I could put my screws in. It's not what I expected. I had to continuously rearrange to make it stand sturdy against the wall. The shelves were kind of off causing the balance of the bookshelf not to stand properly. I was able to work with it though.
