  • After flow strips!
Size: 20 Strips
These Varroxsan Oxalic Acid Strips are an effective and convenient option for managing varroa mites in beehives. The slow-release design makes treatment simple, providing steady protection over time without frequent reapplication. They are easy to place in the hive and don’t require complicated mixing or equipment, which is a big plus for both beginner and experienced beekeepers. Many users appreciate that they help reduce mite levels while being straightforward to use as part of a regular hive maintenance routine. On the downside, results can depend on proper timing and hive conditions, and like all mite treatments, they work best when combined with good overall hive management practices. Some beekeepers also prefer more frequent monitoring to ensure effectiveness. Overall, these strips are a practical, low-effort solution for varroa control and a useful tool to support healthy, productive hives. ... show more

  • A Good Addition to the Mite Treatment Lineup
Size: 20 Strips
The most important thing first: These seem to work for mite reduction/prevention. I like to alternate types/forms of treatment on my hives to minimize the potential for resistance development, and I used these strips for this first time this summer. I'm a low-fuss beekeeper, so I particularly liked that they could be used with honey supers on. They go in easily, folding over the frames and covering each side. I used them on both deep and medium boxes. I had to trim the ends a bit to fit nicely on the mediums, but that's easily done as the strips are a cardboard-type material (more on that in a moment). Mite count both before and after was minimal, so as far as I'm concerned they did their job, but this wasn't exactly a rigorous scientific test and keepers with more significant mite presence might have different results. The only drawback to these from my perspective (and the reason for 4 stars and not 5) is that removal is a little messy. Unlike treatments that are applied to plastic strips, these cardboard strips stick to everything, break up during the required time in the hives, and require a bit of work to remove completely following treatment. Some pieces fall through the boxes to the bottom of the hives. I suppose the bees would eventually do the cleanup for me, but I didn't want to test that theory. So, all in all, a nice addition to the mite treatment arsenal, cost effective, and easy to install, but cleanup is a bit more work than other options. ... show more

  • Easy process , will use again
Size: 20 Strips
Easy to use, easy directions, great videos online to show how to fold and place over hive frames - I placed 4 strips in upper brood box of each hive, folded over the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th frames - not messy, but used gloves for handling chemicals. Strips were easy to remove 6 weeks later in early Jan when temps went back up temporarily to 50 degrees. I'll review status of the bees in early Spring. I understand that I can do this treatment again without mite resistance buildup when it warms up and Queenie is actively laying brood. ... show more
