I like the fact that it is wide and heat up easily. It glides easily through hair and does its job of either straightening or curling your hair. I am including 4 pix to show size comparison between 2" Vanessa roller and my existing 1" that's still working. I have long hair and wider roller is useful. I only used this hot roller once and hopefully will be able to use it again and again for many years if I don't return it. The issue: the power and temp buttons are located in the handle, where you are holding the roller, many times one of the buttons will get pressed, the power button will be okay since you need to press it for 3 seconds to power off. When you are dealing with the back of your head, getting one of these buttons pressed make you stop and check. I have decided to hold the roller on the back of the plate instead to avoid pressing the buttons, that is not going to happen. These areas are hot to the touch. From the picture you can see that they are thin (see pix one where you can see my pink hot roller is significantly higher thus providing you with great insulation). I am going to use it again one more time before making a decision whether I should keep it or not. Having dual voltage will be nice, but I have not tried this feature either. ... show more

This product works well and quickly! I have very thick, coarse hair, ununiformed waves, hard-to-style hair - a poofy mess. 1 pass with this straightener made my hair straight (uneven waves and poofy-ness no longer visible). With 2 passes, it was pin-straight. I didn't have to use any products in my hair to achieve this on the first try, however I will be looking into heat protective products for future use. I previously purchased a mini straightener for my bangs and I fell in love with the quality of the tool that I decided to get this larger size. I have waist length hair and this tool really gets the job done quick. It heats up quick and gets very hot that you don't really need to go over more than once or twice depending on your preference. I’ve been using flat irons fairly regularly for 20 years and this is the best one I’ve ever used. I have long, thinner, wavy hair. My previous flat iron, which I thought was great, was actually rougher on my hair when I had to use it again recently. This one is super gentle. It holds my hair, but allows my hair to slip through easily. It heats up quickly and has an automatic shut off. It’s dual voltage, too. I used it in Western Europe for three weeks and could plug it straight into the adapter plug (adapter, not converter) with no issue. It’s probably heavier than other dual voltage flat irons for travel, but this was reliable and worked every time. ... show more
