    • I'll never go back to HP cartridges
I will never go back to HP cartridges!!! I could no longer allow HP to make me live in fear of not using their outrageously priced toners. I admit it took me a couple of tires to find a "non-HP" company that worked, but here it is. I was getting by with the other companies, but getting red streaks here and yellow streaks there, but even then, it was worth the nearly $400.00 savings when I purchased all 4 cartridges. Then I went ahead and purchased a full set of Valuetoner cartridges, replaced them all at once, and all the streaks were gone. Today, I challenge anyone to tell the difference between a $500.00 set of HP cartridges and my new $68.00 complete set of Valutoner cartridges. To me it is unbelievable that I can purchase an entire set of cartridges for much less that one HP cartridge. I will never go back to HP for toner!!! ... show more

    • At least it works...
I’ve used other brands of aftermarket toner in my MFP M277, but in most cases there were issues with the print (color splotching, toner leakage, etc.). I thought I would give Valuetoner a try, as it appeared to have mostly good reviews. The toner shipped quickly, and was well packaged. The toner cartridges, were very nicely packed, and installed without a hitch. My HP printer did put up a notification about these not being HP parts, but that is to be expected. I was able to print out the demo page, and some test pages just fine. The color was just okay, with some moderate banding showing up in prints. Photo printing color accuracy is pretty bad compared to other toners I have used. Text documents with some color appear to be pretty good, but printing mostly in black isn’t to challenging for a laser printer. Printing performance is not that great. I would estimate color prints (50% coverage) to be 60-70% slower than with genuine HP toner. I believe I have had better printing performance from other after market toner, but HP doesn’t exactly go out of there way to work with third party inks/toners. Printing in black & white, word documents/PDFs are faster than the color prints, but still slower than genuine HP toner. So the Valuetoner does work, just not that well for complicated color documents. Color accuracy is all over the place, and print speeds are poor. That said, Valuetoner is $40 vs almost $400 for 4 HP toner (toner is worth more than the printer). So for the money, it’s not a bad deal. Just wish the color wasn’t so poor. ... show more

We own a small business and print our in-house marketing materials with our HP printer. The cost of OEM replacement cartridges at our nearby national office supply store is about $400. To save money we decided to try these cartridges with their price of just under $60. The print quality is excellent. To be fair, the OEM catridges ran out of toner before we replaced them, so we could not print the same images for side-by-side comparisons. That said, we ran some sample prints using standard, cheap laser paper and these catridges and the prints appear as good to us as the original OEM cartridges did. Several reviews mentioned the Valuetoner cartridges make distinct clicking sounds the OEM do not. We also experienced that but it seems to have no impact on printing. The only downside we can see thus far - and we've contacted Valuetoner to ask if we missed it - is that there appears to be no way to recycle these cartridges. Toner cartridges are giant chunks of plastic with metal and other bits and we'd like to know that we aren't just shoving them into the local landfill. Overall, at a savings of nearly $350 for a set of four, a very good value. ... show more

Print quality is very poor. I have 4 HP printers for my business, this toner is dull, muted and doesn't seem to be adhering as 'thick'. If you're not printing anything in color and just sticking to black, you probably won't notice, but if you use your colors for any reason, you will notice it immediately. Things that printed pink before are coming out muted burgundy. Yes The HP toners were always opaque and quite bright in color. Won't be repurchasing these toners ever again. ... show more

    • Sharp print quality with no streaks or other issues & price excellent (just reordered)
Just installed all 4 cartridges. They arrived fast, were well packed and easy to install. There is advisory notice on the package to replace all four cartridges at the same time and I did. On startup, printer recognized they were not genuine HP but it continued on to menu page as normal. When printing there is a noticeable “click & clunk” but this does not seem to affect the print output. Color quality ok for everyday printing and is sharp with no streaks. Haven’t tried photos. Will see how long they last. But so far am happy with experiment of using these non-HP cartridges. Price was obviously the motivation in purchasing. Would purchase again. Update: One year later it’s time to replace the black cartridge. Output quality has remained consistently excellent so just ordered this 4-pack again. Price has come down $10 since first order. A win-win! ... show more

PRODUCT NOT RECOMMENDED. My printer toner had run low and I updated all CMYK carts with this replacement package. Now, whenever I print anything, all pages have these stripes on the back side of the paper (this should be a blank white page). I would send this back for a refund but some time had elapsed from when the printing cartridges had arrived (hooray for Amazon Next Day delivery) and been installed, and when I actually printed something. During that time, I had already disposed of the product packaging and shipping materials. For next time, it's good advice to hold on to all the toner packaging for a while to confirm that the product works correctly before disposing of it, in case of defective products like this. ... show more
