  • Does the job well, great for the money
Bought the Valor CC-4 for my home gym. It's sturdy and relatively easy to put together (took me about 90 minutes moving slowly). I find the range of motion excellent for hamstring curls and decent for quad extensions. I'm 5'10", 165 lb with relatively long arms and legs and feel the comfort is great. As identified in other reviews, you do have to insert the thigh constraint after sitting down and remove before getting back up, but I don't find this to be an issue given the relative quality otherwise, and considering it's for a home gym. It definitely needs an olympic adapter if you have olympic plates, as they will bang around otherwise. Wish I'd seen reference to this before buying. Overall, it's a huge step up from the ham and quad attachments that frequently come with a flat bench. ... show more

  • Valor Rocks
Let me start by saying this is the 4th piece of major Valor Fitness equipment I have purchased in the last 6 months, and I think I might become the next Valor Spokesperson. The item works perfectly as advertised. I am 6'1" and the height is just fine and holds tons of weight with no balance problems. Assembly was easy, but took a few hours. The directions are par for the course...if you can use basic common sense and read a simple schematic, you're golden. People always whine about that, but a step by step guide is not necessary. The product is awesome. The leg lock has to come out to get in and out, but this is easy. Converting between the exercises only takes a few moments. This is not a commercial gym piece, bit for the incredible price it comes really close and I am VERY satisfied. I love Valor equipment!!!! ... show more

  • Avoid if over 5’6”
Nice home use equipment, as is all the other Valor equipment, and as a disabled Gulf War veteran I appreciate that the company is vet owned. But this particular piece should be sold with a warning label, as it’s useless and painful to use with your shins if you’re 6’2” like me. One of the reviewers had made the modification it should come with in the first place, but didn’t list the specific hardware they used to extend the way too short control arm. Obviously it requires a metal saw and specific size drill buts and a drill capable of going through hardened steel, but it would be nice if Valor could provide an update with a parts list (or provide the parts) and instructions to modify it be useful for fairly average sized men. ... show more

  • It was easy to assemble
It arrived today. It was easy to assemble. Looks really nice. I tried it out and it is very smooth. I'm 5'9" and it fits me nicely. The backrest isn't fully extended so there's room for someone much taller. It seems pretty sturdy. I will only be using it for curls because I have another machine for extensions. The price was an additional factor for my 5 star rating. I did notice the amateur welding, but maybe I'm picky. I would recommend it at this point. AFTER USING FOR SOMETIME NOW. Leg roller pad doesnt roll because I've compressed the pad, now it caused a blister above the back of my ankle. Gonna try and find a more rigid pad i can slip over the roller bar. But still love the machine. UPDATE. 2 small foam rollers fixed the roller issue. Works great ... show more

  • Excellent Addition to Your Gym
Valor is my new “go to” for specialty exercise machines. My new CC-4 is a great addition to my home gym. Valor’s customer service and their instructional YouTube videos for machine assembly and operation are excellent. Moreover, the engineering, design, and functionality are outstanding.

  • Okay for home use
I needed something to work leg beyond squats and dead lifts, so caughed up the $300 for this leg extension/curl apparatus. It's a sturdy piece of equipment, but a bear to assemble. The instructions are pretty poor and had some bolt numbers mislabelled so i had to disassemble one piece and do it again. Hardest part was attempting to insert the weight arm with two washers and a spring pin. There was no way I was able to get the hole to line up for the pin with both washers in place, so I had to use one and hope it didn't cause too much stress on the arms during usage. May try again later as thing start to wear. The photo on Amazon shows the weight arm set up for Olympic weights, but it comes equiped with a weight post only useable with standard plates. It also was missing two of the rubber feet. I contacted Valor and to their credit, they sent me the feet and an Olympic plate adapter the next day. The adapter is okay, but is plastic with a recessed steel hex screw to tighten the adapter to the standard post. Steel > plastic, so the screw stripped the threaded plastic right away, and the the adapter spins it's way off the standard post during use and I have to push it back on after every set. The rubber feet and seat handles are a little loose and slip off if you move it around the floor or grip, the handles too hard, I may have to get some adhesive assistance to remedy the adapter, foot and handle issues. The frame and seat are sturdy and look like they should hold up to a few years home use. The way the equipment is designed, you will not have even resistance through your range of motion. The resistance will be ilght initially and reach its max as the weight arm approaches the horizontal. You'll get an okay leg workout, but don't expect it to work like a cable device with elliptical cams. There are no instructions for proper use or positioning, so you'll need to figure,it out on your own. Bottom line-I'm glad I have this equipment to vary my home workouts, and it does work my legs, but it is NOT a substitute for even low end gym equipment. But it's a suitable alternative if you don't use a commercial gym. ... show more
