I like this hair dryer/straightener, but I'm definitely not in live with it. You can use the dryer and the straightener functions independently from eachother. I tried it once with the straightener and it gave me horrible fly aways, I had to spray my hair down with leave in conditioner to help tame it after straightening. The next time I washed my hair, I used it on mostly air dryed hair, and it turned out better. Definitely not the straightening quality of my expensive Chi, but I wasn't expecting it to be, although the cost isn't that much less than my Chi. It is convenient to have a dryer built into the straightener, but it takes a while to section it out small enough for it to be really effective in drying your whole head. This is a good option for travel where I don't want to bring my most expensive hair stuff and risk having it lost or stolen.

WOW! I think I love this more than anything I've ever reviewed! It does what it says- and does it GREAT! It dries & smoothes or curls at the same time! As a hair stylist, I've tried every hair product out there, so I am pretty jaded when it comes to new products, and I almost passed this one up. BUT IT WORKS LIKE IT SAYS!! I am amazed! I have a shoulder-length bob, bleached hair, and wear it straight with a little turn-under, and of course I tried it on myself first. I used the lowest heat setting, on towel-dried hair with a heat-protectant spray, sectioned it off, and let it air-dry a little first. This thing does exactly what it says! It blows the hair dry at the same time as giving you the heat of your choice. It's super-easy to use! 2 buttons- that's it- and once it's set, you needn't set anything else! I honestly tell you, this IS the best invention of the 21st century! As easy as it was to use on my own hair, if you are a stylist, it will save you half the time! I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!! The ONLY wish I'd have for it would be that the end was thinner or pointier, to part off smaller sections without a comb, and get closer to the scalp. But, you can do that with a pointy-end comb anyway. GET THIS!! I really can't even describe how fabulous it is. Drying and straightening or curling at the same time? What stylist or woman at home has never wished for a time-saver like this?! I am SO glad I ordered this. If you have long, straight hair, in particular- it's a must-have. But it's perfect for any type of hair. It has 3 heat settings. It shuts off on it's own if not in use for a few minutes. No bad smell- in fact, somehow it emits a sweet smell! I love it, and you will too. There is no need anymore for a bulky hair dryer as well as a straightening iron- this does the whole job. Trust me- get this!!!

I was intrigued by this concept, a straightener that dries. I imagined my prep time being cut in half, but that is not what happened. The directions simply say to not use it on very wet hair, so I towel dried my hair and waited about 30 minutes of air drying. My hair was about 75 dry by this point. While there are different heat levels, I didn't want to go hotter than my usual setting for fear of damaging my hair. It took about 10 passes per section of hair to dry and straighten. It took a significantly longer amount of time vs. blow drying and then straightening. This could be handy for travel pr those with limited space, but I wouldn't recommend this for everyday use.
