I got souse vide for Christmas so this helps. Plus I m vacuum packing more meat for freezer. It is a learning curve to start using (had to watch video) but now I have got the hang of it.

Just received this unit from Amazon haven't done any sealing yet but I will review it again when I do. Instructions are easy to understand and there should be no problem operating it. I purchased it for the main reason of having a 5 year warranty but trying to warranty it as per their instructions is like panning for gold on top of Mt Everest. I sent them an email about this problem but I really don't expect to hear from them if I do I will leave comment in my next review.

The media could not be loaded. This whole device is a gimmick. First giveaway is this great built in cutter. It’s a slider that’s like on a ziplock bag. The gap of the cutter is so thin it will not even go over the bag, so it’s useless. You can even see in the sellers video that she doesn’t use it. If you look up the right there’s a piece of tape over it. Thought I did it wrong the first time, so I re tried on the steaks it already ruined by being in the freezer for a week. Following the video and manual, the device will not vacuum out all the air and it shuts itself off. This was the 6th attempt. Trying all different ways of putting the bag end in the vacuum tray. It starts vacuuming well but is not strong enough or the pressure from the handle is not enough to create a tight enough seal. Wasted a prime deal on this and should have got a different brand. I cannot say how frustrating that this device is even on the market. The other reviews have great ratings they are also only a few months old, great reviews that ironically were pretty new right before prime day. DO NOT BUY THIS. You can see in my long video that it starts to seal and then stops at 2 bars, never progresses, and then gives up. I have to then manually seal it. You can see at the end of the video me manipulating the bag to show you all the air still left in. The end result, I put them in a freezer bag.

My old cheap vacuum sealer broke and I decided to try this one because of the extra options around what you are sealing. I tested it by vac sealing a 16 oz can and it easily crushed the can flat and I started geeking out. I then sealed my steaks for sous vide and the double seal held very well. I was also very excited to see that it automatically double seals each end. 10/10 do recommend. Well worth the $150.

The unit works as well as my older Foodsaver. Sounds almost identical. I wish it came with an extra plastic connector for cannister use. The outlet for attaching on this unit is quite deep. A standard Foodsaver cannister attachment connector is not deep enough to engage a good vacuum fit. Even using theirs (which is deep enough), I thought the unit was defective when I received it. I didn't want to really push down the cannister hose as deep as it needs to go for fear I was going to damage it. Once I did, it actually worked. I need to detach the long connector from the hose to attach it to a larger rubber circle hose that vacuums like linens/food bags. This attaching the connector from 1 hose to another is annoying and an extra is not sold. A cheap part like that included would make plenty of users much happier when using more than 1 brand external connection. All in all, I am pleased with the machine. The manual pulse button is excellent. I use it to add exactly how much pressure I want. Some cheap cannisters will crack under too much pressure so a few zaps to get a mild vacuum and it is complete.
