Bought this to replace a Foodsaver I purchased at Wally World. The old vacuum sealer was finicky at best. If you got the bag in just the right position, with one foot off the ground, leaning into the wind with the sun over your left shoulder, it would work great. Otherwise, it was a dice roll. Since I prefer my gambling to stay in Vegas, I immediately tossed that POS in the trash can and moved on with my life. Botulism is a cruel beast and I am not taking any chances with food! Now I am in the market for a vacuum sealer that actually works and was browsing the Amazon site when I came across this little gem from Nutrichef! I couldn't ignore the glowing reviews, so I once again rolled the dice. The vacuum sealer just showed up today, and let me tell you....this is the Tesla of sealers! Sleek black with a nice brushed stainless piece in the center.....sexy! The timing couldn't have been better since I had some chicken, pulled pork and BBQ Beans to seal up and freeze from the weekend. Tried the sealer with some of the quart bags that came with the sealer and all the bags sealed perfectly. The unit is MUCH quieter than the last one I had. I read a tip about leaving the bag in the sealer before pressing the side buttons when it is done sealing for a few seconds to make sure it gets a good seal. I also tried the "Moist" mode on the beans and a bag of the pork and am pleased to report that it also worked flawlessly. I am most pleased with this sealer so far and look forward to sealing some dried ghost peppers and jerky this Summer with it. If anything changes, I will update this review to reflect those changes. Buy this thing now! You won't be disappointed! UPDATE 4-11-23 --- Started having issues with the sealer. First issue was when sealing, right side would pop out of place (almost like the heat was making something expand) and if I pushed it down and it clicked, would pop right back up again. Also, sealer has been quite finicky over the bags I have. Still had some FoodSaver brand bags left over from last sealer and sometimes they work, sometimes they don't (by don't work, I mean will not start sucking air out of the bag). I DID register my vacuum sealer with NutriChef upon receipt and they have extended my warranty, but that is all for nothing if I cannot get ahold of them! I have called the number posted on Amazon as well as on their FB page. If I press 1 for sales, I either get that no one is available to take my call or just silence. If I press 2 for customer service, it hangs up on me immediately (nice!). If they are closed, I get a message saying they are closed and listing the hours in Eastern Time Zone. If I press 0 for the operator (which I have never gotten), it rings for about 15 times then says Thank You for calling Sound Around. Apparently this company is owned by the same company that owns the audio company Pyle. If I go to the Nutrichefkitchen.com website, they have no phone number, but a contact form. I filled this out last week and got a response the next day from Pyle Support. Denise in customer service was incredible and helped me through my issue and replaced the sealer. The new one is working perfectly!

This is one of the more useful products I've bought from Amazon over the years. Before this one, I had a very bare bones sealer I bought off Wish for 20 bucks. It worked then and it works now still but when I started needing to vacuum seal many small bags of home made candy the cheap one just wasn't cutting it anymore. It would take four hours to vacuum seal a few batches. So I bought this, and I'm generally pretty happy with it. I needed to be able to seal cut out bags from rolls and this does that easily. The sealing strip does get pretty hot (like melt your bags to the point of them falling apart hot) with repeated use but once you get in the rhythm of it it's easy to stop the sealer after a second or two to prevent melting. I also needed to be able to stop the vacuum at any time to seal and this allows that too, pretty flawlessly. Lastly I needed to be able to control how hard the vacuum removes air given the bag contents and this allows that with its Normal or Gentle modes, as well as the Wet or Dry food modes. My last sealer didn't have any of these options.- it was either on or off so it would smash certain foods to the point of it being worthless before sealing it. So, after using this for a few hours over the course of my first week having it I'm really happy with it. So far it's done everything I need it to do quickly and effectively, though I do have a few small complaints. The first of which I wish the operation buttons weren't directly in the middle of the unit because at first trying to close the lid on the machine would result in my brushing one of the buttons and changing my settings, or in the worst case scenario the sealer would start before the vacuum even occurred sealing off the bag while it's full of air, requiring me to start over. Actual physical buttons instead of basically a touch screen would have fixed this, or moving the buttons to the top of the unit. My second complaint is that you really need to apply some pressure to lock the lid, which is another reason why you might brush against one of the panel buttons and have the machine start doing something you don't want. I do, however, understand somewhat the need for a tight seal for the vacuum to work but this does seem excessive, almost like when you first get it you feel like you might break the machine trying to lock the lid. Over the time I've used it I've gotten used to it but at first it seems odd needing to apply fifty pounds of force to lock the lid. I also know this isn't necessary as my cheap unit I've had didn't need this kind of force to operate... You could actually just lightly hold the top down with your palm and it would operate just fine. I've seen some reviews talking about how the machine was broken when they got it, and read some unhappy customers responding to Customer Questions on this page and my best guess is that they don't know how to operate the machine properly. I definitely wouldn't suggest a frail or weak person buy this unit because locking the lid repeatedly could become stressful, but there is also a slight learning curve to these machines and I can see why some people would be frustrated by it. Overall I'm pretty happy with my purchase and very happy with the amount of time I've saved in just a week strictly in vacuum sealing my products, it's cut the time down by more than half. I'd recommend this.

After 10weeks, the latch on the right side that locks the top down broke. The sealer couldn’t be used. Initially, I submitted 3 online requests for warranty service on the NutriChef website and got no responses. I continued to pursue getting assistance. I finally contacted Pyle customer service at PyleUSA.com and got action. Nutrichef by Pyle shipped me a replacement product. As far as the product goes, it works great and is compact and easy to store.

Been using for years now and no issues at all. I live alone I separate and portion large packs of meat and seafood to freeze. I grow things and use it to vacuum seal my flowers. It works for many things and very well. It has been a great money saving investment
