I bought this as a birthday present for my granddaughter who is studying for a master's degree in biology. I have searched many different kinds of microscopes on Amazon, and most of them are microscopes packaged in foam boxes which is not enough for a gift of over $270, this microscope with an aluminum box met my high expectations. Summary: Pros +LCD screen looks great, LCD screen is way better than trying to focus your eyes on a lens +Monitor provides a more comprehensive view and enables sharing. +The construction of the Vabiooth is mostly metal. There are a few plastic parts. +Objectives and ocular lenses are of good enough quality so that what is seen through the scope is decent with good resolution. Cons -No dark field function -If the revolving turret can mount 4 DIN achromatic objectives that would be better Other comments I am sure anyone who buys this microscope will be happy with their purchase. I was hesitant to buy this microscope because of the price and fewer comments but was pleasantly surprised when it came to operating like and better than the microscopes on campus.

This arrived to me in a broken case and the slides are made of cheap dirty glass that limits the view of my samples. The filter lens also fell off the first time i used this. Choose a different item. This one costs too much for all the broken parts and inconvenience.

This is my first microscope and it has exceeded my expectations! The video screen is the way to go for microscopy as it makes acquiring objects easy and you can take pics on it from your phone. Setup was quick and easy once I went on YouTube and searched for "vabiooth" because the paper instructions were insufficient for assembly. The video screen, adjustable lighting underneath, adjustable slide knobs, and different magnification heads makes obtaining images quick and easy. My whole family was testing stuff with this thing. I tested my blood and a couple different masks and found ribbons in my blood and in the masks so I am pissed and need to find a way to detox and get a new job because mine requires wearing a mask. My family and I are all unvaccinated but we all had graphene in our blood and bubbles with stuff in them. Everyone needs to buy one of these to move from blissful ignorance to awakened and motivated!

The media could not be loaded. I wasn't really what to expect but this thing had features I didn't even know a microscope could have, the screen is amazing, it comes with a ton of different parts, it even includes a 100x lower lens and a 25x eyepiece. I was able to look at microorganisms I had never seen before, we took it camping with us and we weren't concerned about breaking anything because it came with an amazing hard case with foam cutouts, we were able to find an amoeba swimming around in circles in one of our samples

The base didn't raise high enough to focus the plate. I had to stack 4 plates so I could view it with all the lenses. Everything else worked, which is why it got 2 stars instead of 1, but I returned it and the new one I have works perfectly.
