Review of Beyond Marine 10 foot dinghy. I received the dinghy within about a week of ordering, packaging was good. Items were compete and also included was a Manufacturer of Origin letter to be used for registration. First impression was that the quality was good, seams appear to be well made and solid. Assembly was easy enough (never easy with a rigid floor dinghy). Adding some air (about half full) to the tubes helped with regards to getting the floor installed. In comparison to my previously owned Zodiac dinghy (which only lasted 6 years before some seams came unglued) I have to say I am impressed with the Beyond Marine dinghy. Fit and finish is good. I touched up a corner of the aluminum floor with a file, which was probably not necessary, and that took about 30 seconds. The seat attachment is much better in comparison to my previous dinghy, being more secure and also adjustable fore and aft. This dinghy also has a cleat on the bow, ropes on the side tubes, tow rings, fuel tank tie down and canvas carrying bags. With regards to construction, I am pleased with everything I can see at the point in time. I contacted Customer Service with an issue about the hose attaching to the foot pump and they responded with a solution almost immediately. We traded couple of emails back and forth about the dinghy and I will say they responded quickly. One communication was about the two seats that appear to be wood coated with a waterproof material. Not knowing how many years these seats would last I suggested they change that to aluminum, and they responded that they would pass this along to engineering. Fantastic Dinghy! Lots of features that others double the price do not have. A word of warning - install a better painter line as the one that comes with is too small if the wind picks up! Fantastic customer service as well.

    • Good, but few things out of whack

Received it a week ago, and finally had a chance to break it out and inflate it. I'm going to say overall quality for the money I'm impressed. However there are some issues potential buyers need to be aware of. Although the boat appears to be put together pretty well the foot pump and fittings are falling off lack of glue easy fix but it's brand new and you have to fix it. The big issue stopping five stars is the floor. The AFT panel has a mitered corner looks like it was done with a chop saw. The edges were very rough lots of metal burra and sharp on the edges. Not good to be in contact with the tubes. Couple minutes with some 80 grit sandpaper and had them all smooth and rounded. But how many potential buyers would think to fix that? That should have been taken care of it the factory. One other bit of awkwardness I believe the instructions on floor assembly maybe a bit out of date. It talks about holding them up with a paddle and an elevated ridge. Well that's not true it took me 15 minutes of reviewing which side was up and how the sidebar is locked in. Just unnecessary confusion that could be solved with updated instructions. So far please my purchase just it's not out of the box ready to go ... show more

Bought this to use during my month stay in the Florida Keys this February so I haven’t used it yet. I have inflated it to check it out and let me say it’s impressive. The 4 piece aluminum floor is solid and easy to install. The inflatable itself seems like a quality build with handles located in well thought out and convenient places. It’s rated for a maximum 15hp outboard and that’s what I’ve put on it. I’ll give a more detailed review once I’m back from the Keys in March. ... show more
