    • Working out great with my Intel Compute Stick W5 Pro Windows 10 1903 system.
I'm using this device with an Intel Compute Stick (W5 Pro Mini PC Intel Atom Z8350 Windows 10 1903 Computer Stick 4GB DDR 64GB eMMC). While the computer is slow, it is a functional computer. I'm sure the speeds reported below reflect the W5 more than this device. I purchase this device to provide access to the Ethernet adapter (instead of using the on-board WIFI support) and to expand the USB 3.0 ports from 1 on the device to a total of 6. The Ethernet is running fine. The RCN (my ISP) speed test reports: Latency: 1.95ms (Ping download test) and 2.42ms (Ping upload test) Download: 137.2 Mbps Upload: 25.16 Mbps. As for the USB, I'm using only one device, a Logitech F310 game pad (USB 2.0). I noticed the game pad doesn't like working with the USB 2.0 port, but works fine with the USB 3.0 ports. (The keyboard and mouse USB dongle is through the USB 2.0 port on the W5 Pro computer, itself.) This device meets my expectations for a USB Ethernet Adapter 7-Port Hub.     • Perfect for anyone that uses a laptop as their main rig.
There isn't much to say about this USB hub other than it works, and works well. I work two jobs and after leaving the office and getting home the one thing I hate most is unpacking my laptop and having to manage a bunch of cables to plug in all of my peripherals day in and day out. Thankfully this USB hub allows me to plug in 7 devices and my wired Ethernet connection with a single USB connection making set-up a breeze when I get home. I literally only plug in the Hub, my power brick and the HDMI if I want to use my projector. It cuts out a lot time setting things up when I get home, but it also allows me to connect more devices than my laptop offers because I only have 4 USB ports on the laptop itself. Before I always had to pick and choose what I wanted plugged into the laptop for different uses, be it gaming or movies but now I don't even have to think about it. Right now the list of things I have plugged in: - 500Mbps Ethernet (which I haven't noticed and throughput issues with) - USB Headset - Blue Yeti Mic - Logitech Powerplay Mousepad - Webcam - Focusrite DAW interface - Elgato Capture Card I've used all of these at once and haven't run into a single issue, what a fantastic product. ... show more

I took a star being that this hub interferes with my USB soundcard. No other hub appears to have this issue, but this one cause the sound to not work correctly, forcing me to plug the card directly into the laptop. Aside from that, it works pretty well. I get good speeds via the network cable, and all the other usb devices work great. ... show more

This is truly a great USB hub (7-ports with an Ethernet). I initially had a hiccup setting up; it showed up as Realtek USB CD drive under the device manager. However, I was able to resolve this issue and it is now correctly showing up as Realtek USB GBE Family Controller. My set-up has multiple 2.5" HDDs and SSDs without external power supplies. On this Unitek USB Ethernet Adapter 7-Port Hub, all HDDs and SSDs are always connected without dropping. The Gigabit Ethernet is truly fast as well on my Acer Swift 1 which does not Ethernet port (only WiFi). I am really happy with this purchase and its functionality and reliability! ... show more

The hub checks all the basic boxes: 6 USB 3 ports, a charging port, and high speed ethernet. Mine worked perfectly for the first six months, but then a few of the ports began acting strangely. Happily, Unitek took care of the problem incredibly quickly. Highly recommended.

    • Not Adequately powered. Network connection faulty. Seek another alternative.
I have experienced two problems with this hub that lead me to conclude it is under powered and will take down your network router trying to draw power from it thru Ethernet cable. 1) When I connect the Ethernet line to the network port, I get an network connection for about 10 minutes. Then it wipes out my Router. I have done exhaustive testing to eliminate bad cables and connections. My only conclusion is it is trying to either draw power from, or shorting out my router. 2)Randomly a couple times of day I lose connection to attached devices (with the ethernet connection not plugged in). The only way to regain them is to cycle the power switch on the this device. I am using all ports with the following device connected: Logitech slim Keyboard, Kessington Expert Mouse, ASUS external DVD drive -non powered (uses two ports, one in the fast charge port). external WD harddrive with its own power, Wavlink HD docking bay with its own power, logitech webcam. I am connecting this to a Lenovo Yoga C930. There are other, similar, reviews for this device leading me to conclude it is a design/manufacturing error. Amazon should pull it's "Amazon's Choice" label. ... show more

I use this USB hub as a docking station when I am at home. It connects a keyboard, trackball, CD-ROM drive and Gigabit ethernet cable to my laptop. All I have to do on the laptop is put it in airplane mode to disable the internal WIFI. I like that all the ports on the USB hub are turned off when the cable to my laptop is disconnected, that includes the ethernet port. The data transfer speed is fast for the network and my peripherals, I don't notice any lag at all. ... show more

    • Works great with my Surface Tablet
My previous Ethernet adapter would not stay connected for more than 10 minutes at a time despite updating the drivers. That adapter was popular model about 1"x1"x5" and had 3 USB ports as well as the Ethernet port. After giving up on it I found this adapter that not only has Ethernet but 6 USB 3.0 ports plus a charging only port. It comes with a power supply which was good news as my Surface Pro tablet could not supply enough power for several accessories at the same time. I am running Windows 10 on my Surface Pro and this adapter works great and delivers plenty of power to operate several USB thumb drives along with the Ethernet connection. ... show more
