  • Excellent Thunderbolt Dock
I've been using this device regularly for 3 months now. This works very well. It's a great size and a quality build. I use it for transferring photos and video from the V30 card in my A7IV and I get maximum read and write speeds for the card. I also wanted to use it to transfer a bunch of files from my One Plus android and for some reason the usb-c port only charges and does not recognize it as a file device to be able to transfer files. The usb-c does put my phone in fast charging mode. The UHS-II works great however, there have been a couple of times I have had to re-insert the SD card because the reader did not detect it. I would say this is the only area where build quality could be improved. It is rather loose compared to any other SD card reader I have used but once it's recognized its fine, never disconnected. Overall for the price this is a very decent dock if you are connecting to the recommend 100w usb-c port. ... show more

  • This is all I needed! (and probably you)
This dock is by far the best I've used. Craftmanship quality is phenomenal, and its ports are fast and reliable (not every dock allows fast data transfer through all of its ports). I can quickly transfer files from my mirrorless camera SD card (Extreme PRO-SDXC UHS-II Memory Card - C10, U3, V90, 8K, 4K, Full HD Video) and connect USB-A devices to my iPad Pro, Macbook, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. Also, I can connect these devices to any TV through HDMI without losing image quality (all this while being able to charge my devices). It is compact and lightweight, and its USB-C cord is sturdy enough to withstand slight bends (I prefer this format as it is more convenient than other docks that must be fixed to the connected devices or have shorter cables). I always keep this in my camera bag or throw it on my backpack as it is lightweight. This is an excellent investment for anyone looking for a capable, high-quality, portable dock. ... show more

  • Functions ok, but feels cheaply made and overpriced
I use this all day long with my MacBook Pro for work. It drives my 4k monitor @ 60Hz, supports my wired gigabit ethernet, USB-C charging, my keyboard/mouse receiver and drawing tablet. Functionally I've had no issues with it. But it seems cheap in some areas: - Overall build quality doesn't impress. It has a plastic-y feel and creaks when squeezed. - Mine gets very warm in use. It definitely puts out more heat than my MacBook Pro (odd). - The two USB A ports are tighter than I've seen on any other device. I move my keyboard/mouse receiver daily between computers and I often wonder if I'm going to break something because I have to pull so hard to get the receiver out. - The USB C cable is an awkward length. It's not long enough to give a comfortable distance to the laptop, especially with many other wires plugged into the hub. I had to spend more to buy a USB C extension cable to place this octopus behind my laptop. - Three USB A ports would definitely be better than the two provided. With a keyboard, mouse, webcam and drawing tablet it's not enough for me. I'd gladly trade the micro SD slot for a third USB A. Given the above points and the fact that this isn't a low cost item, I'm giving four stars. ... show more

  • Look no further, this is just what you need for your laptop!
It's light to take in your travel bag to connect and power your on-the-go devices, yet powerful and versatile to use at home for most connectivity needs you can think of. Very well made, sturdy construction. Here's why I like it: -It's a great from factor, feels solid and it stays put, others move around all over the place. -Cable is the right length to keep at hand reach or move out of sight. -PD 100W is fantastic for charging all my stuff from a single power source. -High speed data transfer gets to my external storage fast. -At home or the at the office plug in to ethernet to get the best speed from your Network or Internet Service. -If you enjoy a desk setup with a dedicated power source and connected devices at home or office, get one to keep in that place and just connect a single cable for instant setup, and another one for use on-the-road. Nothing beats it in this category. ... show more

  • Worked great for the first month, no longer charges my M2 MB Air
[Updated April 2024] Customer service is great. They replaced my first one under warranty. Second one still stinks too with the same issue. If you are going to use this to connect to devices for long periods of time spring for something better. For the first month of ownership, the device met the expectations in the ad. Small, powerful, portable, and very functional. I don't know what's going on but for some reason the device has stopped charging my laptop now. It say it's charging but the laptop hasn't been fully charged in days. Probably just going to stop with these low end cheap devices and spring for the more expensive docks. Spending the money anyway cycling through ones that fail quickly. ... show more

  • It's really working!
I've already tried several different docking stations for my MacBook Air - and all of them had some problems. E.g. the ethernet connection lost 50% of its speed or the external SSD that I'm using which is very fast, around 3000 MB/s, got slowed down by another docking station to 1/10th (300 MB/s) - which I though was really crazy. Another one lost the internet connection frequently... BTW I'm someone who would always try every different possibility to find a solution, but all other docking stations had some flaws. This one actually works and the build quality is pretty good. It also doesn't get as hot as my last one. My monitor does now also show 75 Hz as refresh rate, while my old docking station provided only 60 Hz. - I do not get paid and did not get a promotional device. I'm just posting this to help others to find the a docking station that is actually working flawlessly. ... show more

  • Just plug and play
I did a lot of research to find out what was best for our needs and what would work with a new Mac Mini computer. And just being able to plug and play, awesome!
