I've had this a little over two years now, and it finally died. To be honest, I didn't think it would last this long because it seemed poorly made, it was on the cheaper end of the price spectrum, and I didn't have it in a level spot so it put a lot of strain on the host cable. I used it at least five days a week so I could leave my monitors and peripherals plugged into the unit and switch the host cable back and forth to my work laptop and my personal laptop. I never had any technical issues with it until today when it just stopped working. I would definitely buy this again. I like the small form factor, but I wish the host cable was longer, or even detachable, but that's because of my set up, not the product itself. I'll try to find something better suited to my set up, but if I can't find anything, I get another one of these. ... show more

Bought this to hook my work laptop up to. I was ecstatic to find one with 2 HDMI and 1 VGA, because I have 2 identical 24.5" ViewSonic monitors, and a 54" TV, with VGA, mounted above the two monitors. I've been using this setup for about a week, now. I have both HDMI monitors and the TV plugged in, along with an ioGears 4 port USB switch, to switch my keyboard, mouse, mic, and webcam between the units. I haven't tested the Ethernet switch, yet. This device has done very well handling the setup and I've yet to experience any video issues. But one thing that causes this device to fail to fully meet my expectations is the fact that my two identical monitors can't seem to reach matching resolution. My primary monitor is able to reach resolutions of 1980x1080. However, the second HDMI port is only allowing a max resolution of 1440x900. This is the best resolution I can obtain, after changing the HDMI cable to rule that out. For a budget device, this is sufficient, but if you you have high expectations, this may not meet them. *UPDATE* Had to knock my review down again, cuz this thing is just becoming too problematic. So somehow, some way, the device began allowing a 1980x1080 resolution on my second ViewSonic monitor I had hooked up, for some time. However, I just experienced a power outage at my home that knocked my electronics out. After getting power returned I noticed an issue with my laptop receiving a charge through the device. Naturally, I rebooted everything and unplugged the device from my laptop, plugged everything back in again. Now, all of a sudden, my left monitor is no longer allowing me to get to a 1980x1080 resolution again. So now I'm back to having to deal with a 1440x900 resolution on my left screen with 19080x1080 on the right screen. The inconsistent configurations that this device seems to constantly go through are becoming entirely too irritating to want to continue dealing with, b/c I can't trust that I'm going to keep even this configuration should I experience another power outage. And with the coming months expected to get even colder than they currently are, that's likely going to be a possibility. So, 1/10 do not recommend. I'll be seeking an alternative. Too bad that I didn't decide soon enough to return this thing. But it is what it is. ... show more

Purchased this at the tail end of 2022, writing this review Aug 1, 2024. Worked great out of the box and had just the right plugs for my setup (2 HDMI monitors, ethernet hard wired connection, power delivery, and USB A for external camera). Did not touch the SD card slots, but assume they work as well. This unit does get REALLY warm after just a few minutes of use, but it sat out of the way on my desk and didn't cause any problems. Never really noticed it, unless I happened to bump into it reaching for something else on the desk. Even when monitors were off though, this thing stays pretty warm. Fast forward to today, I've had problems with my ethernet connection showing up on my connected laptop - keeps defaulting to WIFI and a much slower connection. Tried several steps, including bypassing this hub to connect the ethernet. Turns out the ethernet port stopped working on this hub a few weeks back. Everything else is working fine, but I can't get a signal through the ethernet port. I guess the price was worth the rental for a couple of years of use. Opted for a slightly more expensive replacement through Anker, which has lots of gear on my desk currently. Has always worked well and any issues have been resolved by their service team quickly - even when I purchased months or a year plus ago. Those extra few dollars are worth the comfort that I won't be back posting an updated review on broken equipment for my newly purchased docking station in 24 months. ... show more
