I had an older model that finally stopped working after years of great service, so I replaced it with this one. What a difference! This is honestly the best toothbrush I’ve ever used. The cleaning power is on a completely different level. Every time I use it, it feels like I just had my teeth professionally cleaned at the dentist. One small difference I noticed is that the battery doesn’t seem to last quite as long as my old one. With the old toothbrush, I probably only had to charge it about once a month. This one needs charging more often, but it’s not really an issue for me since I keep the charger in the bathroom anyway. I have been told by dentists for years that I should be using an electric toothbrush, but I have VERY sensitive teeth, and every time I used one it sent me through the roof! Well, a couple tooth cracks later and I decided to suck it up and try again. I bought this one because it has a lot of settings, including one for very sensitive teeth. Out of the box it was sleek and solid, and the display was easy to use and intuitive. It did take some getting used to, and I used it with warm water, but it did not hurt, which was thrilling for me! Now, several months later, I can say that I love this toothbrush and that it genuinely cleans my teeth really well! I am not one for pairing things with apps or my phone, so I can't comment on that side of the toothbrush, but it does have a pressure sensor that lights up red or green to let you know if you are bruising too hard or too lightly as you go. The battery lasts a long time, as do the heads, and it comes with a travel case as a bonus. Two thumbs up! ... show more

ABSOLUTELY love this toothbrush, have always use the Phillips sonic and nothing is wrong with them!! But went to California for my 70th Bday/family reunion and purchased 2 battery operated Oral-B brushes for the wife and I. The first thing was the smaller brush head, and although it nothing like the iO I enjoyed being able to get to harder to reach areas without having to dislocate my jaws!! And soooo much more powerful (Phillips 3yrs old), but enjoy all the new features. Although I am having trouble downloading the brush app on my phone. Which was a selling feature I was looking forward too! The sale price was nice too as they are quit pricy, but planning on purchasing one for my wife's birthday next month.. I have been brushing my teeth for a short while with the Io5 toothbrush and I love it. It is so helpful to see live if I am using too much pressure or too little. The light on the handle changes colors which is easy to see. I also like the 5 different cleaning modes. My teeth and gums already seem healthier. I happen to use the app religiously which helps me know when to move sections, when they are cleaned and when it’s been 2 minutes. It also rates your performance. I really love the app feature. The noise is a little louder than my previous Braun toothbrush. However, I like the round shape and size of these brush heads. The battery life is not as great as I’d like. I think for this price it could come with an extra brush head. Unless I am using it wrong it has only beeped every 30 seconds one time but, it could be because I use the app. Without the app, I wouldn’t know when I hit the 2 minute mark because it doesn’t turn off automatically. Despite these faults I still love this toothbrush. However, due to the faults I gave it 4 stars. I still recommend this toothbrush. ... show more

This toothbrush replaced my Philips Sonicare, and I can honestly say I’ll never go back. It provides a noticeably better cleaning experience, especially along the gumline. The round brush head and circular motion are much more effective for me than the side-to-side movement of my Sonicare. My teeth feel significantly cleaner after each use, and I’ve noticed a fresher, more polished feeling overall. The toothbrush also charges quickly, and the compact charging base takes up very little counter space, which is a nice bonus. I just love my oral B Rechargeable Electric Toothbrush. I wish I would have bought it sooner. My mouth and teeth feel so much cleaner. I, also, have less dry mouth. My dentist is also very pleased that I bought this oral B. I would highly recommend. 2 minutes is not long to brush your teeth. Let the brush do the cleaning. The oral B has a timer and it lets you know when you are done brushing. Just gently move the brush along to a different spot and let the rotating brush do the work.     • Great toothbrush but so fragile

I love this toothbrush, but it is important to know that it is extremely fragile. I accidentally dropped it in my sink (max approximately 1-2ft drop into a ceramic basin) and it broke immediately, meaning that it simply stopped working and wouldn't activate even though it was fully charged. Again this is a great toothbrush with great cleaning properties, but for the price it is extremely fragile and should be more robustly constructed. Very disappointing, but sadly as it is still one of the better electric toothbrushes on the market I had to buy a replacement. If that doesn't deter you, then go ahead and get it. It has great power and a reliable pressure sensor to help you from pressing too hard. Works great at keeping teeth white than a manual toothbrush. My dentist always comments that oral hygiene benefits from electric toothbrushes. If you have sensitive gums, I recommend buying the sensitive brush heads as they clean just as well but without as much damage. Oral b makes good gum sensitive replacement brushes but they are sold separately. The electrical component (the part you hold that the brush heads attach to) is a bit heavy but that's where the technology is right now. Battery life is okay, not great but if you charge regularly then you won't have an issue. Brush head size is good for adults but might be too large for children.
