  • Fairly pricey but they work well
Style: 5-AA
I've been using these to power my trackball and an FT-530 VHF/UHF transceiver for over a week now. So far they have held a charge and even during use the voltage has remained very close to 1.5 volts with a quick recovery to 1.5 volts after use. I am pretty surprised at their good discharge performance. The only drawback is the price but considering that you won't have to buy AA batteries for a long time to come and these work so well they are cost effective. I'm quite happy with these batteries. ... show more

  • Charging is a little clunky, but function is great
Style: 5-AA
This is my second set of rechargeable batteries that outputs 1.5v (or close enough to make most stuff work) instead of 1.2v that most cheaper AA rechargeable batteries will output. I respect that this brand is trying a method of recharging outside of the normal model of the brick that holds all of the batteries and plugs into the wall. I don't love it though. The 4 headed cable is fine, but I worry that it isn't durable. Any of those cable heads can get bent, or the cables can fray over time. The charging ports on the batteries can be damaged or get something in them from grubby kids' hands (or mine). I wonder if there is some efficiency advantage, but it isn't clear why this recharging method was employed. That said, the battery performance is fine. No complaints on that front. I actually used these head-to-head with another rechargeable brand after a matching set of pre-lit holiday garland burned through 3 non-rechargeable batteries in 3 days. These performed completely on par with the other set of rechargeable and lasted slightly longer than the non-rechargeable batteries (but they had been in something else before I re-deployed them in the garland). Point being, these are comparable to other 1.5v rechargeable batteries but have a potentially less durable recharging method. That would not deter me from purchasing them in the future if the price is also comparable or less to other 1.5v rechargeable AA batteries. ... show more

  • Amazing for High Drain AA Toys Like RC Cars or Transformers
Style: 5-AA
We recently purchased an amazing Auto Transforming Optimus Prime toy for my son. Everything about it was just perfect and he absolutely FLIPPED when he opened the box. Sadly, the included batteries didn't last very long because the motors inside require a fair bit of torque to make him transform from a truck to a standing robot. When we replaced them, even with name brand high quality AA batteries, the motor inside struggled to lift its own weight up. We thought the toy was broken, but before returning it, I decided to get some more powerful AA batteries instead. Opting for these rechargeable lithium batteries was just what Optimus needed to transform and ROLL OUT! The toy sprung back to life better than new! He runs perfectly now without even a hesitation or click when standing up. The motors have tons of power and torque and don't hesitate at all to transform, drive, and talk for hours on end. What's best, however, is that these come with a VERY intelligent 4 piece charger cable, so you can charge all of them at one time. I ordered two sets so I'll always have a fresh set ready to go. Really can't recommend these highly enough. If you have some high power, high drain toys in your house, these are an AWESOME option that will pay for themselves in just a few months. ... show more

  • Excellent Rechargeable AA Batteries
Style: 5-AA
I like everything about these batteries. They are long-lasting and durable. I use them in flameless candles, and just for kicks, they will last seven days for twenty-four hours on one charge. I then used regular alkaline batteries and lit the same candles, and the store-bought alkaline only lasted four days. I was impressed because the candles were also a little brighter. These will save some money. They are USB-C rechargeable, and the charging harness for all four is included. A little green light on the end lets you know they are fully charged. Excellent product! ... show more

  • Decent, Not The Best
Style: 5-AA
Date: Wed Jan 10 2024 Item: QABUO USB-C AA Lithium Ion Rechargeable Battery, 1... VINE DISCLAIMER: -------------------------------- In the spirit of full disclosure, I received this product free as part of the Amazon Vine program. My methodology for Vine Program products is to give a more thorough -- often product-destructive -- review. If I like the product, I buy my own version of it, otherwise, it gets donated post-testing. I may include my opinion on the product's value proposition to the market. REVIEW: -------------------------------- There's quite a lot of these generic/new brands selling rechargeable lithium AA Batteries these days, and like with a lot of things, it's important to know which brands you can trust. First, the feel is good. They have a green light that blinks when it's charging, and solid when charged. It uses the standard on-board BEC module, so you have to plug a USB-C cable into them. The advantage of this design is that it's good for traveling as you don't need to bring a specialty charger with you, the disadvantage is the extra circuity on board cuts the total capacity available, and the included quad-USB-C cable is really short, so you'll inevitably leave them hanging from a wall outlet. Now, how do they perform? After performing the initial charge up and down cycle as recommended, I moved on to do a robust set of charging cycles on each included cell (see graphs), testing the mAh/mWh rating. As evident in the data, these do perform OK, not great, not terrible. Only a few brands actually come close to spec, so this isn't too surprising. I would really like to have seen a more uniform capacity across the cells, as you'll see in the chart, cell A performs the best, while cell C performs the worst .. with a difference of about ~200mAh. It seems that cell A was the stud of the litter here. Regardless, none of them came close to the stated spec of 1700mAh / 2550mWh capacity. The settings I used for these was a 0.5A constant drain and a 1.0V low-voltage cutoff (since the on-battery controller will likely cut output). I also did a few cycles at 0.1A (ultra-low trickle draw) and those matched up with the same capacity ratings. Even if you take a rough average, you're still looking at ~80% of the rated spec. I should note that output was read at ~1.45V with that 0.5A draw, so they should work with many low-draw AA-powered devices. Anything take needs exactly 1.5V or higher, or a high load (e.g. 2A), will likely be a toss up. You might be wondering why these (and many others) don't reach their stated capacity .. if I had to take a guess, it's probably from efficiency loss of the power converter on board. Since the battery controller is taking the cells native voltage (roughly ~3.7 to 4.2v) and dropping it to a 1.5V output, there is some conversion loss, with cheaper controllers not being as efficient. When you combine that with the usual practice of many manufacturers stating their best-case scenario output from the lab in their marketing materials instead of a proper average expected capacities, you get that discrepancy. Of the brands I've tested like this, these perform with a passing grade. They do perform better than the AmpTorrent brand I tested in the past, but fall short of the CZVV brand which, besides what it's random character name would indicate, are actually pretty good performers. END NOTE: -------------------------------- And with all the reviews I do, if there's ever a problem with this product, I will edit (if able) to update this review. These will be denoted in an "UPDATES" section. ... show more
