A cursory look at the seams appears to show quality and thorough welded connections. The shape/design looks almost identical to a popular offering from Curt. The metal is thick along the channel connector, I'm guessing 3/8" and the stamped ball receiver seems to be at least 10 gauge. It comes with grade 8 bolts and hardware for connecting, making this a bit more of a complete kit than some of the more expensive options. The connector latch works but it is stiff. I applied some lithium grease and it helped but it's definitely still stiff. I hope with some use it will loosen up a bit. I have this installed on my 7k dump trailer, an upgrade from a cheap cast-iron 2" receiver from the dealer. I will update this review if its service is anything less than exemplary. ... show more
