I hated having to turn on the light before walking downstairs in the night. I placed them every third step and the path is well lit (only needed 4). My grand-doggie likes them also, she constantly plays on the stairs to get them to turn on (rolls eyes). Motion detection is perfect (picked up my shadow), the adhesion is STRONG, its not budging, the brightness is a medium light and turn off after 10-15 seconds.

Updated: I decided to give the lights a try again after the sellers sent me an email apologizing for my bad experiences with their product. I then read a lot of the reviews posted about these lights, and realized that the amount of lighting that hits them really makes a difference to whether or not the lights themselves work well. The darker it is, the more sensitive to movement they are, the better they work. The seller asked that if I wanted to, I could return the products and they'd send me new ones as replacements to give them another try. I decided I would use the ones I still had, that I'd had problems with before, and test them out for a few weeks before I returned them. (I wondered if maybe it was user error or something). The one I felt works best is still in my bedroom, and still works perfectly. Turns on with movement once it's night time and we turn off our bedside lamps. Stays on long enough for us to get to bed. The second light was one that had given me issues, the one I had placed in the closet. I noticed that it didn't turn on as often when it was day time. To get to my closet I have to go through the bathroom, and my bathroom has windows (with blinds, but quite a bit of light still filters in). At times the light works, but if it's too bright in the bathroom, once I open the door to the closet, the light won't turn on. When it's dark enough though, the light always come on with movement. So, it's working as it should be. 👍 The third light that had also given me problems I think was the most sensitive to light. I put that one facing the door to my coat closet. It's a pretty deep closet (almost Narnia like) that the younger members of my family like to hang out in (nieces and nephews), so I made it into a little secret room for them. Since it has no windows (because it shouldn't), it's pretty dark inside, so I put that light facing the door so it activates once the door opens. It took a day of having it there for it to work well, but since then, it actually works perfectly every time. TL;DR- It has to be dark enough for the lights to work perfectly. They were made to be sensitive to light, so they don't turn on when a room is lit up enough. All three are now working perfectly for me. Good product. Will probably buy another pack again. 👍 Previous Review: One of the 3 works amazingly. It's perfect for what I wanted it for. (I just put it on the floor of our bedroom, facing our bed. It leans against a corner.) As soon as we turn off all the lights for bed, the movement when going to bed causes it to turn on and we can actually see where we're going. As soon as we're snuggled in bed, it shuts off with perfect timing. 👍 The issue is with the other 2. I wanted to put another in my closet that would activate as soon as the door is opened so I can see before I turn on the switch to the actual closet light. Well, the first light I put batteries into lit up once the batteries were inside, and then never turned on again. So I took out those batteries (which were new) and put a different new set of batteries, but the same thing happened. So I tried the last light, and exactly the same happened. I just left the batteries in it and put it on the floor of my closet, leaving it against a wall, facing the door (it's like maybe a foot or less away from the door). After a couple days, it started working better but sometimes it wouldn't light. Now, after a few weeks, it works a lot more often than not, but it still has its moments at times 🙄. If it weren't for the issues of the other 2 lights, I'd have gladly given this 5 stars.

Bought these in 2015 for our mudroom entrance area and 2 hallways. They were veeerryy DIM. The dimness was more distracting than the darkness. They stopped working at all after a few weeks. I thought the batteries died (no problem). Changed the batteries and 2 of the 3 never worked again. I wish I would have returned them and requested a refund immediately. Great concept but poor performance. I am reminded every time I see them not working on the ceiling.......

Went up easily and is bright enough we don't have to go turn on the dining room light to quickly fetch things. Not rechargable, but this is not someplace that gets high traffic. I have other under-counter rechargeable lights and love them, but this one's AAA batteries are better for keeping their charge when not in constant use. Stuck it to a wall with the included foam tape; it comes off with a twist when batteries finally need replacing. Nice little device. The wife loves it (and who am I to argue?)
