I always lived in a house and was accustomed to having space for a deep freezer. I now live in a condo and have no such space for one. My refrigerator freezer is always full so with the limited space I have I looked for a small freezer to use specifically for meats. I happened across the Icevical store and saw their 1.1 cubic foot stand alone freezer and, based on the measurements, realize it would fit perfectly in my small kitchen. The unit measures 17.5 inches wide, 18.5 inches tall and 17.5 inches deep. Inside there's a single shelf. The top shelf is deep enough for larger meats like ribs and bigger steaks and the bottom shelf being shallower is perfect for chicken and pork. The temperature is controlled by a dial located on the back next to the compressor with numbers 0 through 7 on it. The lower the setting the warmer the temperature inside the freezer. Of course 7 would be the coldest setting. Installing the unit and setting up his pretty straightforward and simple. The instructions recommend waiting 24 hours if the unit is tilted more than 45° while moving it. Since I don't know how it was situated while It was transported I waited 24 hours. That allows the freon to settle back to the bottom of the compressor. Once the waiting was done I placed the unit where it was going to be situated in my kitchen and then used the leveling legs on the bottom front of the unit to level it out. The legs could be turned to extend or retract them. Once it was leveled and situated where I wanted it, I simply plugged it in and set my temperature to 4, as per the instructions. I let it sit overnight to get cold and the following day I put a few Meats in it to test it out. Setting number 4 ended up being a perfect setting. The meats stayed frozen, even after I added a few more. The unit is very quiet when the compressor is in operation and the only sound I hear is the click when the compressor shuts off. I've had it running for 2 weeks now and it has operated perfectly. I would highly recommend this freezer to anybody in a situation like me was limited space. Even if you have plenty of space and just want a freezer specifically for meats or another type of item, this is a perfect choice. It's nice not having to dig through the big freezer in my refrigerator to find Meats that I stuck wherever I could because my freezer is always so full with other items. ... show more

Just got the freezer unboxed. Looks good. I set the control to fast freeze. Seems to be working fine. Only issues I have is it came damaged. Back right corner is dented pretty good. Box did not look damaged so it was probably damaged before being sent.

I ended up getting this because our main fridge freezer was constantly packed, especially after I started stocking up on meat and frozen meals. I needed something that wouldn’t take up a ton of space but could still hold a good amount. This fit perfectly in the garage and didn’t feel bulky at all. I really like how easy it is to organize everything with the shelves instead of digging through piles like with a chest freezer. Being able to switch it to a fridge if needed is a huge bonus too. It just makes it way more useful long term. So far it’s been doing exactly what I needed it to do, and I don't have to play freezer Tetris anymore which is a win in my book. ... show more
