The best way to brew coffee imho! I love how compact this is; it's so travel-friendly! So much flavor is lost when brewing coffee in a machine, I had no idea?! The essential oils from the coffee beans/grinds aren't stripped away like they are in an electric coffee maker or when using paper filters. I purchased this and a stove-top kettle to replace my French press that broke and I absolutely love preparing coffee this way now. It's actually really fast, too! For some reason, I thought it'd drip, drip, drip, so slowly and my joe would be cold by the time I filled the cup, but it gives more of a trickle than a drip...and the coffee brews strong! I filled up a jumbo mug in about 13 seconds. It's easy to clean, just bang it out, rinse it, and toss it in the dishwasher. No more descaling the water lines of an electric coffee maker!

It’s good quality and easy to use. You have to stay on top of cleaning though. Coffee grounds get stuck in the holes, and if you don’t scrub it every time, it will clog quickly. Doing a quick rinse and using a sponge is ok in between each cup of coffee. Once I’m done with coffee for the day, I use a bottle brush or a toothbrush (that’s only used for dishes) to clean the holes thoroughly.

This was my favorite filter ever for my pourover coffee. It lasted a year, for which reason I gave it 3 stars, but the little ring on the bottom came off won’t stay on with any glue that wouldn’t be toxic. This was a nice, heavy filter, and it should have lasted more than a year.

If you had a landfill dedicated to discarded paper coffee filters, the pile would rival Mt. Everest in size. And the cost of those filters is climbing! This stainless steel mesh filter works better than I expected. The trick is grinding the beans to just the right coarseness. --Too fine, and it takes forever for the hot water to drip through. Too coarse, and you don't get full flavor. I've found that 10--12 seconds in my coffee grinder is about right. I like it that this filter fits *into* the cup, rather than sitting above it. After your cup is nearly full, you can let the filter sit there while the grounds "steep" for a few minutes, for richer flavor. With this filter you'll have a little residue left in the bottom of your cup, but don't let that bother you. It's extra caffeine. Finally, when you're done you'll want to take a minute to spoon out the grounds and toss them in the trash before rinsing out the filter. Flushing coffee grounds down the drain isn't recommended.
