  • this crate changed our dog’s life!
Size: 48.0"L x 29.5"W x 35.2"H Color: 48IN-Black
We got our lab Lucille as a rescue, she was seven years old when she came home with us and she’d never been crated. She’s got extreme anxiety and her decent share of aggression due to the fact that she’s bounced around homes her whole life. We’re very adamant about crate training our dogs but she was extremely set in her ways. We tried everything. First we figured we’d be able to get her used to a crate through positive reinforcement. She bent the crate door in half within the first two hours the first time we left her alone after hours of training over several weeks. We couldn’t let her stay out on her own while we weren’t home as we have cats and she showed aggression towards them at the time. We decided to put up baby gates (which were installed about four feet high) and fence off a large space for her so she wouldn’t be able to hurt the cats but would still have a comfortable space. She shortly started jumping onto my desk in the room and eating at the blinds. Then she learned how to jump the baby gates (despite the fact that her hips are in horrible shape). We weren’t sure where to go from there because we didn’t want her hurting herself while jumping over the gates, so we opted into getting her on anxiety medication since she found it unbearable to be away from us and was becoming increasingly more destructive. With the medication we were able to leave her out on her own without issue until she started reacting negatively to the medication and showing increased aggression and much more extreme anxiety. She ended up making a habit out of jumping onto our dining table when we were away from home. Every day anything that was left on the dining table would be scattered on the floor or smashed, not to mention we were horrified to think that she could fall and hurt herself and we wouldn’t know until we got home. At this point we were desperate so we decided to try a wire crate again. We came home that day and she’d ripped the crate door clean off, even with her cone on since she also had a leg injury. Most other heavy duty crates on the market are very expensive, so I spent hours reading blog posts and reviews until I found this crate. This thing is a MIRACLE!! She was hesitant with it at first but after luring her in with a treat she was a changed dog. She quickly realized that she wouldn’t be able to chew or claw her way out, so she settled down! We’ve only had it for about a week but she now has zero issue going in the crate and staying calm in it. She eats her meals in there and often even chooses to go in there to relax. We cannot be happier with this find and it was absolutely worth every penny. Now we know that she’s safe while we’re not home! ... show more

  • It’s heavy!!!
Size: 48.0"L x 29.5"W x 35.2"H Color: 48IN-Black
I liked the way it was partially preassembled with all hinges mounted. Made assembly much easier. They supplied the tools you need, like two wrenches so you could hold one nut and tighten the other, but they were short and designed for one time use and using normal tools is recommended. The latches are sturdy and not easily “crackable” by the dog. It is supremely sturdy and the top also opens so you can reach down in there. I refer to it as “The Jaiil.” Lol. The only issue I had with it was getting it in the house. It weighs about 80 pounds and is large and bulky. I needed help! It’s also on wheels, but the locking mechanisms for the wheels are pretty flimsy. But I’ve had no problems with it moving, though. If you have a puppy, there is a tray that goes under the whole thing that is easily slid out for cleaning. And for its sturdiness and size, the price was not much more than the “oven rack” type. However there was no free shipping. ... show more

  • Happy with my purchase!
Size: 48.0"L x 29.5"W x 35.2"H Color: 48IN-Black
We've been using this for a couple of months and we really like it, as does our still growing german shepherd. My granddaughter and I put it together, so it was very easy. The wheels are a blessing and make it so easy to move around. The dog seems to love it, too. When we leave the door open, he often goes in on his own. It's just a really nice kennel! I highly recommend. ... show more

  • Alcatraz works!
Size: 48.0"L x 29.5"W x 35.2"H Color: 48IN-Black
We have an 8 month old lab mix who is a chewer and an escape artist. This crate is wonderful. We bought the largest size so he would be comfortable. He has not been able to get out of this one (he bent our last one to get out). He is only in it max 2 hours, once a week but I feel like he is safe while we are gone. Super easy to put together, and very easy to clean. Ours is so large I can get into it easily. The wheels are nice because it's easy to move when I run the vacuum. So far very pleased. ... show more

  • We love
Size: 48.0"L x 29.5"W x 35.2"H Color: 48IN-Black
Our 60 pound Lab Rodney is slowly getting used to bigger quarters. He now has room for his bowls and to stretch out fully to rest. This crate is a definite good game changer! We've went through our share of crates and this one is by far the best. It's super sturdy and we love that it's on wheels which makes it easier to move to clean inside and behind. This crate has thick bars and the double locks help make it secure. We recommend this crate to folks that have a chewer that tears everything you give him up. It's money...well spent. ... show more

  • I think this could almost hold a bear!
Size: 48.0"L x 29.5"W x 35.2"H Color: 48IN-Black
I have a two-year-old, 28 pound Australian Shepherd who outgrew her metal crate. I sometimes have to leave her during the day, and she has to sleep in it at night. She could not stretch out or stand comfortably, so I bought this after reading many descriptions and reviews of other kinds. I could not afford some of them, and this seemed good quality at a reasonable price. I am very pleased with the size, strength, construction, design and ease of assembly, though I needed help putting it together because it is very heavy. My dog has plenty of room and can see out of all sides and the top. The wheels make it easy to move. Everything needed was included, even tiny hex wrenches and an Allen wrench. An extra latch piece was also included, as well as a pair of gloves! Of all the heavy construction, the two latches are far too light. I don't know why they would build such a thing with such flimsy feeling latches. They will hold up to my dog, but not quite a bear. I will be very careful to not slam the door open or closed. One other thing that could be good or bad, depending on how you look at it, is that the bottom part of the crate that the dog stands on is wire mesh. Because of this, I had to buy a thick, "indestructible" pad for her comfort. I suppose the mesh is to allow for drainage to the removable tray below. Overall, I am happy with my purchase because it is affordable and well constructed. The description is accurate. ... show more

  • Chewer !
Size: 48.0"L x 29.5"W x 35.2"H Color: 48IN-Black
Our boy had a regular wire cage.. while at work he had chewed thru the tray into the kitchen tile. Couldn't believe he had done that. We put that same cage in the family room and he chewed the carpet to the padding. As of now this is perfect for him... he can't chew on anything as of now. This is the 48" cage, it's strong, and seems to be very chew proof 😀 ... show more
