The hardware on the collars, leashes, and harnesses is solid brass. The collar has a quick release side closure buckle that is Coast Guard approved for high weight hold. To determine the collar size measure the circumference of the midpoint of the neck. Select a size range that best matches the neck measurement. Made in the USA. Machine wash gentle cycle or hand wash and line dry. Not for use in Tie- out. Their tags never fall off the collar's rings and the quick release does not stick, crack, come undone or otherwise malfunction. My white Shepard mix looks gorgeous in gingham! She is a little bit of a puller and I used to be afraid she'd break her old collar. This one doesn't help with the pulling, but it is strong and thick enough that it doesn't cut into her neck when she pulls, which she only does for a few minutes when we start our walk.
