  • Very compact but increases leverage and provides for more turning positions Very compact but increases leverage and provides for more turning positions
Style: Wrench Extender Adaptor
CONCLUSIION: Recommended, but very pricey. Similar tools have sold for as little as one-third this cost. Other than price considerations, I consider this a good-to-have tool if not a must-have tool. There are times when you need more torque than your body weight and strength can muster on a single wrench, especially short ones. Or maybe the edge of the wrench cuts into your palm and fingers too painfully. This tool enables you to add length for more torque or to move the pulling/pushing position to another angle if you can't position the wrench to move it directly. Compact enough to use on almost any wrench and strong enough to apply the additional force. Simple to operate and it is very effective. FEATURES: Comes in a cardboard box for closet storage, but if you carry your tools in a chest, you don't need it. It has an oxide coating that seems durable and it's not slippery. Total length is about 3". The bottom of the jaws are about 1/4" wide and the top is 5/8". Some wrenches will be loose in the jaw until pressure is applied. The photos show how the wrench is placed in the tool and how a ratchet wrench can be placed to increase overall length or turn from a different angle. A breaker bar without a socket will be limited in position to where the drive hole sits. Using a socket with a breaker bar will enable you to have more angles. Use a six point socket only - a twelve point will round off the corners of the hex shaped drive shaft. No photos or videos because I can't operate the wrench with only one hand while the camera is in the other. However, the tool does what it is supposed to do. Understand that you have to change the position of the tool depending on whether you are turning clockwise or counter-clockwise. ... show more

  • The Simple Answer When You Need More Torque
Style: Wrench Extender Adaptor
As a person that has always done my own maintenance and repair on our cars, boats, airplanes, etc, etc, it is rare to come across something that makes me go…WOW…Why didn’t I think of that! Many times in wrench turning you just can’t get enough leverage on the wrench to break a fastener loose. I have always kept several different diameter and lengths of cheater pipes in my toolbox. They can help, but sometimes you just can’t make them work because of space limitation. This Universal Wrench Extender is amazing. I can use my ½” drive ratchet or pull-bar as the cheater. It also allows for greater flexibility in positioning of the cheater (versus the pipe). So my pull bar could actually be at 90 degrees (even more or less) so that I can easily apply the perfect torque. So far this tool has worked great and I am so happy I chose to order it. If you are a wrench-turner…this is a tool you need to have! Thanks for taking time to read my review! MY PERSONAL COMMENTS: I am an approved Amazon Vine Member. We are provided the opportunity to order (free of charge) many items that are new to the market, or where a seller just wants some additional exposure for their product. We are NOT required to review every item in exchange for using it. I personally only order products that are important to me (items I can use), or items that I have the ability to properly test (I have lots of test equipment) so that I can provide an honest evaluation & review (and not always a 4 or 5 star) based upon my use and testing of the product. Thanks…feel comfortable with any information I provide in a review. ... show more

  • Last Resort for Hard to Reach Stuck Bolts
Style: Wrench Extender Adaptor
This is the type of tool, that if its needed, there's not much else that will function as this does. It can be used for tightening nuts/bolts but will primarily function in loosening hard to reach stuck nuts/bolts. True you could use a breaker bar along with a cheater, but they would have to be used in alignment with each other and only on sockets. Where as, this device can be used on most wrenches along with a ratchet, breaker bar or metric wrench. The only questionable aspect of this is where the corners of the 1/2" drive hole is near the outer edge of the 21mm hex. These spots at all four corners of the 1/2" drive hole are very thin and may be prone to splitting. Unfortunately as far as this review is concerned (otherwise, fortunately) I have not had the need for using this. Therefore, until proven otherwise, this does not ding the rating. ... show more

  • Good addition to the tool box, especially where space is limited.
Style: Wrench Extender Adaptor
This is a nice addition to my tools I take in my car. In the garage, I'll probably still use a pipe for leverage, but for a mobile or in limited space this is a good addition. In a pinch, I have attempted to create leverage in many ways, some in unholy, immoral, unsafe and possibly illegal in 32 states (including Puerto Rico) by using various means not intended by nature.... this tool is much safer and easier on my other tools in the way it places the pressure on the handle/shaft of the tool in an even way. There is two ways to apply pressure with this tool, a hex head and a 1/2" drive socket (which would be my preferred method). The outer side of the 1/2' socket is hex shaped, which is 21mm or 13/16"; the 13/16th is a more snug fit. If I had to use a socket or open ended wrench, I'd prefer the 13/16" because it is a more secure fit. To test the product, I used it on the lug-nuts on my car. After trying several tools on this, I'd prefer to used them in this order: 1/2" breaker bar, 1/2" ratchet wrench, 6-point closed ended wrench, , 6-point impact socket, 6-point chrome socket, open ended wrench, adjustable wrench. I would not attempt to used a 12-point socket or 12-point closed ended wrench on this, there is just too much play (especially with he 21mm). If you have limited space, but may need some extra leverage, I'd recommend this product, but only if you have a 1/2" drive or a 6-point closed ended wrench in 21mm or 13/16". ... show more

  • Turns your wrench into a breaker bar
Style: Wrench Extender Adaptor
I don't know why someone didn't think about this before. For years I would have to put a wrench on a stubborn nut, take a rubber mallet and start whacking away until it breaks loose. For extremely stubborn nuts where putting a flame is not an option and penetrating oil doesn't work, I could be hitting the wrench for at least 15 minutes to get it to break loose. That method only works if you have enough space, however with this adapter you can break nuts in tight spaces as long as you have at least 3 inches to maneuver. It is made from a very thick steel, so you won't run the risk of it bending and basically uses physics to apply pressure to whichever side you need it to turn while pulling the other side with it. I think this is a great addition to any toolbox. ... show more

  • Gets you out of a pinch
Style: Wrench Extender Adaptor
Long ago a mechanic taught me the "double wrench trick" where you use the box end of a wrench to amplify torque locking it into a double open ended wrench. It became a handy trick and sometimes when you have a stubborn bolt it is a necessary one. With that said, you have to have the room to hook two wrenches together...sometimes you just don't have the space. This little guy sits right in my wrench drawer at the ready. When needed you can slide it onto your wrench, hit an attachment point that shortens everything up a bit and gives you multiple angles of attack. It multiplies torque and helps you get the bolt or nut broke loose. The unit itself is hearty and robust, the welds seem solid and I imagine it will survive its life getting used without issue but if it doesn't I will make sure to post an update. ... show more

  • Great tool for odd jobs
Style: Wrench Extender Adaptor
This wrench extender is a really neat idea and one of those "very nice to have tools" that might just make one of those odd difficult jobs much much easier for you. You won't be reaching for it on a daily basis but it might save you from rage throwing your wrenches/sockets across the garage when you have to remove a really hard to reach fastener that you can't break loose with a wrench alone but cannot access with a socket and breaker bar. A must have gadget for the toolbox of any avid handyman, DIYer, and home mechanic. ... show more

  • The tool for torque! The tool for torque!
Style: Wrench Extender Adaptor
This is a very useful tool to have in the tool box. How many times have I stepped up to a nut or bolt that requires a bit more torque than the wrench and my arm can put out. This tools the solution for many situations with being able to connect an open-end wrench, or a ratchet to it for the increased leverage of removing those tight nuts and bolts. Yes, it’s one of those tools I would have liked to have had a long time ago. I’m glad I have this in the tool box for future projects. ... show more
