The description does not clearly describe it as waxed nylon twine, commonly called artificial sinew. The twine is smooth and even, it is strong and stretches a little, which is in the nature of nylon and is useful for leather sewing. I would not call it heavy duty for leather projects, but more of a medium duty, which makes it practical for many leather projects, such as wallets and knife sheaths.
