-Remember those long-ago days when you could simply walk up to your TV, push a button, and the screen came to life? My LG TV is smarter than me. It assumes that when I my watch tells me there is breaking news I will pick up my remote and click directly to a cable news channel. What really happens is a frantic search for “Where did I leave the remote this time?” followed by a secondary search for my iPhone so I can beep the locator I’ve taped to the remote. Easy? No! Finding the iPhone requires the intervention of SIRI, as in “Hey SIRI, ping my iPhone.” The IPhone takes a few seconds to be found because it is hiding under a couch cushion, beeping teasingly. It takes a few more seconds to locate the locator app on the phone and then I need to scroll through all the things I’ve attached electronic locators to. I press on the one attached to the controller and wait a moment while the search is on. The resulting beep is a little less easy to pinpoint than the phone’s was and requires a few more pillows to be turned over. Finally I can turn on the TV. -Now, with this device, I finally have what many of us secretly yearn for: the good old days when TVs had control panels on their bodies! Buy this product and velcro it to your TV and you are back in those good old days of instant gratification. Is there something you need to watch instantly? Just walk over to the TV and push the ON button. It’s that simple. -This device is exactly as advertised. Plug and play. No need to do any fancy programing. It is extremely light weight so attaching it to the TV stand, as I did, is far easier than it would be with the much heavy LG remote. You can still use the original LG remote when you aren’t feeling impatient or are unwilling to stir from your couch, but wouldn’t it be nice to have an alternative? I was pleasantly surprised by how easy this universal LG remote was to set up. It worked with my LG TV right out of the box. No programming or pairing required. All of the essential functions, including volume, channel controls, navigation buttons, and streaming app shortcuts, worked as expected. The buttons are clearly labeled, responsive, and comfortable to use. It feels lightweight but sturdy enough for everyday use. I especially like that it includes dedicated buttons for popular streaming services, making it convenient to jump directly into my favorite apps.     • Works fine, but generic button layout makes it hard to use "blind"
This replacement remote works fine with my older LG OLED TV (65" C9 model) that comes with the "magic" remote. My wife complains that she doesn't like the pointer feature of the stock remote, so I thought I would try this more basic remote. When it arrived, I thought it was DOA, but it turned out the first set of batteries I tried in it were bad. I swapped them for another pair and the remote worked fine. Functionality of the remote is fine, all functions work as expected, but I deducted one star because the button layout is a bit awkward to use "blind". The arrows are the keys I find get used most often, and they blend in to the grid-like button layout. I think as time goes on they will feel a bit more natural to use, but I wish there had been some tactile features on the keys that make them easier to "feel". ... show more

ITEM ORDERED: Universal for LG TV Remote Control, Replacement Remote Control for LG Smart TVs SUMMARY: Works, affordable, no setup required I ordered this as a second remote for my LG 75NANO91ANA. This remote is a different shape (rectangle vs oval) and lighter than my original remote, but it is nearly a 1:1 copy of the buttons. The only functional difference I'm seeing is my magic remote has a microphone button for voice commands and the this replacement has a record button. If the microphone function is a deal breaker for you, then you might want a different model. I've never wanted the voice feature anyway. I have never used the voice commands option on my old remote. When I press the record button on this new remote the TV informs me this TV does not have that option. I'm fine with that. Everything else seems to work just fine. I can navigate the menus and change settings same as I can with the original remote. This remote uses two AAA batteries, compared to original remote - two AA batteries. "Set up" was simply inserting two batteries (not supplied) and it worked. The 40 foot distance claim is likely accurate. I tested it from about 30 feet away, which is as far as I could reasonably get in my house, going from the back of the dining room and pointing to the TV at the other end of the living room, and it worked fine. The unit is super affordable and appears to be reasonably durable considering what it is and intended use. I am satisfied with the product. ... show more

Lost the original and needed a quick fix. Popped in batteries and it worked immediately, no pairing or setup required. Responds fast, works from across the room, and the shortcut buttons are actually useful for jumping straight to streaming apps. Feels solid in hand too, not cheap and flimsy. We have an LG model 70UN7070PUA with a slender hand-held remote that likes to hide in the couch - and recently the recliner couch chewed it up pretty badly. The remote works great for TV control, replacing functionality of our original. However, it is slightly different from our original, with added buttons for Disney+ and LG Channels. Since we watch some shows on Disney+, having a dedicated button for it is great! Except the TV doesn't recognize the new buttons. Your mileage may vary depending on your TV - I bet it would work if your TV came with those buttons. Buttons feel good, and the remote feels good in the hand. Seems durable if the couch doesn't get too hungry. Provide your own 2xAAA batteries. One feature I wish it had would be a backlight - totally worth it so you don't have to pull out your phone to see the buttons, but since the original doesn't have a backlight either, no fault to the replacement. ... show more
