As I unpacked the box, I was impressed with the careful attention to protection from parts rubbing and shifting. The small pieces were all secured in a red plastic bag and clearly marked as called for in the instructions. The sides, top and bottom pieces were beautifully finished. The only hesitation was attaching the clasps, or locks. The predrilled holes did not line up exactly with each other. We had to make new holes for part of the side lock. Otherwise, it went together very smoothly. There was even a package marked " spare parts" which went unopened. If I could make one suggestion, it would be to mention, in the instructions, that sides B and C are interchangeable depending on where one prefers the smaller door to open. We were following the instructions closely. I would have done that had I not been putting on the top when I realized the smaller door would be up against the couch. The only other time we disagreed with the instructions was when one of the sides was shown as if the cam screws were fastened on the outside instead of on the inside. We just turned the panel around so all corner braces and fastener holes were inside. I would definitely recommend this product. It came two days earlier than originally scheduled. The manufacturers gave a lot of attention to good looks and simple instructions.

I have had a lot of crates and this one is the most sturdy and good looking and practical..I like the table top for my coffee and my puppy’s toys…ships quickly - comes un assembled and there are a lot of pieces to put together and it looks like a puzzle…however the instructions are very good and detailed…the bed that comes with it is nice and most importantly - my Puppy Moses loves to rest and sleep in it even when he does not need to be in a crate — I love it - my dog loves it…you will also — only thing - it took me over 2 hours to get it put together but I am not a handyman….wondeful purchase for me…

The crate is lovely, good quality for the price, and the directions were pretty clear. I do agree with reviews that noted it would be difficult for a large/unflexible person to secure the lock screws that adhere the top piece to the crate as you have to do so from the inside. I am an active senior, in my 70s and do yoga, so I had no problem; however, something to be considered. I would have given this five stars, and probably a petty issue; however, when I took the bed out of the bag there is a section on the top that missed being stiched, exposing the stuffing. I won't be able to use this as it will be an invitation to our puppy to continue tearing. Wasn't about to return because we love the crate, it was assembled and is very heavy; however, will now have to purchase another bed/pad. I did not see an option to contact the seller to see if I could return just the pad and get a replacement. Would recommend the crate, however. Just disappointed that quality control didn't catch this as it's pretty obvious.

I’m glad I didn’t listen to the negative reviews. Despite the delivery guy being rough with the box, nothing was damaged or defective. Very sturdy and beautiful crate. I would add a second inner lock for the double doors to keep it more secure. It is strange construction to have the inner door lock be on the top of the door rather than the bottom. To have 2 on one door inside would be optimal. I was able to assemble in about an hour with 1 screw driver. I agree with another reviewer to assemble all 4 sides before dropping it into the base. Not for puppies or dogs who are rough on crates (heavy pawing and chewing) best suited for calmer adult dogs who are already crate trained. My 25lb French Bulldog fits perfectly in the medium with room to spare for either food and water or a puppy pad next to a smaller bed inside. I don’t care for the bed it comes with. Tan is not my first choice and I think it’s slightly smaller than the interior dimensions. I’ll keep it for a while because it was free but I plan on replacing it with a thicker, nicer bed.

***update*** I've now had this over a year and my dog still goes in there regularly. It's a very pretty piece of furniture in my living room. I often get compliments on it. It is still in great shape, too. I love this crate! I ordered the medium for my puppy. She's now about 32 pounds and this crate is perfect for her. She goes in there all the time when she just wants to rest. I love it because it's very pretty in my living room. We've been using it for 6 months now and may just keep it into her adulthood, as she seems to really like having a space to be alone. I was hesitant to spend so much on a crate, but it was definitely worth it. The only negative is that it's not good for travel at all. it's big and bulky. I had to order another wire crate for travel.
