There isn't really much to say about slides, either they are or are not what one expects - and these are the exact same ones we used at the university class/lab. I've not found any with chips, nicks, or cracks - it looks like they all survived the voyage.

These are not pre-cleaned, so it's a bit of a nuisance. Overall, it suits us well for home use. We've looked at stream water and thin bits of food through the microscope. These are inexpensive, but next time I'll look for pre-cleaned microscope slides.

MANY BETTER OPTIONS AVAILABLE ! Arrived in an envelope, but the box holding the slides looked like it had been through a storm. Slides are NOT PRECLEANED, and NOT SMOOTH EDGED. A number of slides were chipped on the edges. Slides were covered with glass shards - very visible with magnification. After working with them for a short time, my hands and eyes felt gritty. A lot of other debris. I checked my equipment and water. I think these objects (google suggested micro water creatures) were from the slides. I thoroughly cleaned a slide and checked my water. It was clear. These will work in a pinch for temporary mounts, but please pre clean. Cover slips stick together very tightly. Those also have to be cleaned because of so much handling trying to get one out. ... show more

These slides are pretty good but are probably more suited to a student or hobbyist needing slides for their first microscope than for use in a professional environment. Some of the slides I received were chipped and weren't very clean. My grandson was able to look at microorganisms in water from a nearby stream and they seemed to work well for that purpose. I would think that real labs would want to buy something a little nicer. ... show more
