    • Just what I needed, but be careful with the slide cover box
For some reason, I had delayed actually getting any blank microscope slides until now, even though I do find myself occasionally needing to look at random things under a microscope. These are a definite step up from the 100-year old specimen slides I have been just using the unused portion of to look at things. None of the slides or covers arrived broken, although the packaging of the covers could be a lot better. The little plastic cover for the slide covers just falls off. When I picked up the little box the cover stayed in my fingers and the base (with the slide covers) fell out. Luckily, I was over a table so they didn't have far to fall, and none of the slide covers actually fell out, but this was a bit annoying and could have ended up much worse. I'll have to either keep them in a little plastic bag or constantly keep taping and re-taping them so I don't have this problem again. ... show more

    • Exactly What You Need for Microscope Work
These slides and coverslips are great if you want to get into looking at things under a microscope. You can use them for school, for fun, or for lab work. The glass on each one is clear and smooth. Every slide was clean when I got it and was good to use right away. There are no bad marks or scratches. I did see those on other cheap sets before, but not on this one. The slides feel strong but not too thick, and the coverslips fit well. They have just the right weight. It is nice that they are sealed up tight, so everything stays clean until you need to use them. I have used them with different types of specimens, and the clarity has been good every time. If you are working on slide prep, this set is a good pick. The set gives you a lot of slides and coverslips. The quality is the same for all of them. It is not fancy, but it has what you need to get the work done right. ... show more

I have had a microscope since I was a kid. It came with several sets of slides with various bug type things in them. I've always wanted to use it to examine things I've collected, but I never had slides. Now that I'm an adult, I still have things I'd like to check out up close and now I have slides to do it with! This is a nice set. There are slides and cover slips packaged separately. It will come in quite handy for mounting my own special tiny things. ... show more

For glass, the packaging needs to be a bit more protected. For some things, Amazon over packages, and for others - like this - a box full of glass was shipped in a thin bubble wrap mailer. Despite that, this works just fine like microscope slides should...

    • Kind of cheap slides
These slides are a little cheap. I had one fog up somehow while looking at plant material, and another cracked while I was washing it (i always wash slides the recommended way and VERY carefully). They're decent starter slides but i wouldn't recommend them for longterm use.

I’m not a science expert, but I farm and therefore dabble in looking at parasites, microscopic plant life, and soil structure. That said, I need slides to work with my microscopes. These are working great for me. The glass is good quality and the slide covers work well. Everything came well packaged and dust free. I was easily able to handle everything without breaking or chipping (of course, slide covers are a little tricky because they are so thin, but these held up as expected). Very good high quality optical grade glass slides. The slides are clear white glass, not the green normally associated with ordinary window glass. The edges are ground smooth to remove the sharp edges and the corners are rounded to make them safe to handle. The cover slips are also high quality and the combination of slide and cover glass provides a good medium for microscope work. The slides and cover slips are shipped sealed and ready to use as soon as they arrive. Assuming you have a microscope, all you need now are a few stains, some balsam or karo syrup and a specimen and you are all set to do some microscopic study. ... show more
