I love this light. The surface pattern is very realistic and I love how you can change the phases of the moon even though I keep it on full most of the time. I bought one over 12 years ago for my then newborns nursery. I hung this light on his wall along with hundreds of those glow in the dark stars dangling from his ceiling with short pieces of fishing line. It was so magical I have never taken it down. The other day I decided I needed a nightlight that I could reach easily when I needed to get up in the middle of the night. I have three dogs that lay in random spots around ny bedroom floor and I end up stepping on them everytime I go to the bathroom. I was going to steal the one from my sons room but I didn't have the heart to move it so i just ordered a new one. I am so glad i did. I had forgotten how bright it is. It will light up the entire room with a soft glow and it actually gives you the same feel of a real moon lit room. I think it is the color of the light. It has a blue-ish tint instead of the more yellow tinted light that you get from a standard light bulb. I keep the remote on my nightstand so it is easy to reach for to turn on. In addition to it being functional, it is just really pretty, even for an old lady's bedroom :-)

I'm so glad I got this for myself! I'm not a kid, I'm not a young adult... I'm an older adult who loves the moon and all things space-related. It's such a nice glow, love the self-timer too. All in all, not mad I got this. Not mad at all!

The media could not be loaded. The moon phase lights are really bright and look realistic. The surface of the moon is curved and has crater textures on it. It’s lightweight, so it shouldn’t be a safety issue in my 2 year olds room. The remote is a little on the chintzy side, but I don’t plan on letting my child get ahold of that (or the moon) anyway. This is a great way to get little ones interested in astronomy. Nice little brochure also included in the box that explains the moon’s phases. Moon takes 4 AA batteries, remote takes 2 AA batteries. Edit: tip for parents who are struggling to turn the moon on. First, make sure you leave the moon’s on switch in the “on” position and, make sure you are pointing the remote directly at the moon (with no obstructions in the path pointing to the moon.) I learned this because I was trying to indirectly use the remote from a distance and became frustrated when it didn’t work. I found that it works really well if you get pretty close to it and aim it directly at it. My son absolutely loves this especially after having it for a few weeks now. Every night he asks for the moon to be turned on, which helps him easily drift off to sleep. (He is 24 mos old.)

The media could not be loaded. I have a toddler who loves to moon gaze so we found this and she loved it! It was easy to hang and set up. The only bad thing I have to say about this that the batteries should be included for the price . I hate that the romote and lamp required 2 kinds of batteries . Other than that it was a great purchase and goes perfect with her star projector .

Bought one of these several years ago for a five year old nephew and he absolutely loved it. Just purchased another one for another five year old nephew and he has to turn it on every time he’s in room. Even during the day. You can’t go wrong with this.
