  • A HUGE hit for Christmas! A HUGE hit for Christmas!
My kids are 5,7, and 9 and wanted one of these they saw in a Christmas catalog. It was more expensive and sold out. This one looked almost identical, and works great! I fill it with cheap party favors such as, mini rubber ducks, foam balls, small cars, etc. As long as it's light weight it will work. I have not tried easter eggs, but I see no reason why that wouldn't work. The only downside is the sound, it's way too loud! I have taped over all the slots where the sound comes from, and i make the kids place the machine on a yoga mat to help lower the sound even more. I can still hear it from the next room when the door is closed. The kids don't seem to mind and it makes them super happy. Edit 04/07/21: The machine has stood-up to fairly aggressive use; however, running 3 different motors, sounds, and lights causes this thing to become a bit of a battery hog. The Claw uses Qty. 3 D-Cell batteries, which helps prolong performance, but as the voltage drains the functions slow and the game becomes less entertaining. We have plenty of AA rechargeables that we could cycle through, but really have no other reason to have rechargeable D-Cells. Our solution was to bypass the batteries and directly connect a 5V power supply. The machine now needs an outlet to operate, but provides endless hours of playtime, with the upside that the kids no longer try and remove the machine from the playroom or pick it up and shake it. Would highly recommend a power supply or at least 2 sets of rechargeable batteries to rotate through. ... show more

  • Fun addition to parties and kids at heart!
This was an anniversary gift for a friend who loves these kinds of things and he absolutely loved it. He had a superbowl party a few weeks ago and invited a friend’s kids and they also had fun trying to pick up little toy football helmets that had filled the machine with. It’s just a cool little activity to do at parties both both kids and adults who still have a kid spirit. Lol. This video is from the first time he used it. ... show more

  • Grandsons love it! It is loud, but very fun!
So, the first thing I’d like to mention is how much fun this thing is! My grandsons are 3 and 5 and they played with it almost non-stop for two hours when it first arrived. It’s easy to set up, but keep in mind that you need three D batteries and by the grace of the universe, I had those on hand. It also does not come with any actual toys or the prize eggs or anything, so we gathered some small toys from around the house. Those worked okay, but what worked perfectly were plastic cat jingle balls. I did also order some prize eggs a few days later, but frankly, the cat balls were fun enough. As others have stated, the music is loud and pretty annoying, but they had so much fun, I will give that a pass. It also seems to be made pretty well because they weren’t being gentle with this, but it kept trucking along. The coins do tend to get stuck if they aren’t inserted at just the right angle, but they are easy to unstick. I bought a second one for the other grandson so he could have one at home too. Anyway, it’s a fun toy and super cute! ... show more

  • NO VOLUME CONTROL!!
I wish that I had NEVER PURCHASED THIS MONSTROSITY. My son begged for this toy- he was so excited to open it & win those sweet sweet pictured-but-not-included prizes. The excitement was palpable in our house as we filled it with treats. Anxious to use The Claawww, my husband popped in the (not included) batteries AND ALL H-E-DOUBLE HOCKEY STICKS BROKE LOOSE. This devilbox plays circus music at. full. blast. Unfortunately the speakers are the highest quality piece of this product so it is loud. Really loud. Call-the-cops-on-your-neighbors level LOUD. Not only is there no way to turn down—let alone mute!—the volume of this forsaken contraption, but it NEVER STOPS. That’s right- the entire time you have the claw machine on, it belts big-top music at you more enthusiastically than sorority sisters at a bachelorette party & leaves you with just as much of a soulcrushing headache. My husband has been dismantling the little box of horrors in an attempt to disconnect the wire attached to the speakers, but an engineering degree from a state school is no match for the surprisingly well-built Claw Machine of Cacophonous Catterwalling. It continues to not sing but SCREAM the song of its people if you so much as glance at its “On” switch. Save your money & sanity. Do not buy this. ... show more

  • Not great quality, but my kids love it.
My kids absolutely love those skill-crane games that you see in restaurants and shopping malls. Personally I hate them as you typically end up spending several dollars to possibly end up with a low-quality toy that is probably worth a dollar or less. So having this machine at home is probably a good investment if it means that you will be able to waste less money on the commercial machines. This product works with gray plastic tokens that are included with your purchase. Pushing one of these tokens into the slot activates the game. The tokens accumulate in a compartment underneath and can easily be removed any time. Many times the token sticks in the slot instead of going all the way in; this is not a big problem as the game is still activated, and the next token will push the previous token all the way in. One sign of the questionable construction quality is the fact that when the claw is moved (during gameplay) to the right of the machine, it tends to rub against the sliding lid (that slides off to allow you to add prizes) and sometimes causes the lid to slide open. A little duct tape prevents this (but spoils the look of the machine, if that is important to you). I recommend purchasing the refill pack of prizes. Which are basically junk (plastic cars, bendy aliens etc.) but the point of this game is not the prizes. My kids are still enjoying playing this after a couple of weeks, but they have no interest in playing with the prizes, just the challenge of winning one. (Even my 14-year-old enjoys playing this on occasion!) And playdates who come over absolutely love trying this machine, especially when we tell them that they can keep one of the (worthless) prizes that they may happen to win. I would love to be able to spend more money to get a better quality skill crane toy, but nobody sells such a thing right now, so this was pretty much my only option. And so far it is working out well, but given the cheap feel of the toy I am not sure how long it will hold out. ... show more

  • Better than expected, very content with product
I bought this product for my boyfriend, 24 years of age, because he loves claw machines. The product works exceptionally, and has a better grab than the life-size claw/crane machines. Even though it's meant for candy I knew my boyfriend would be much more excited by a more life-like approach so I filled it up with trinkets I got from the bubble machines you used to find in every supermarket which cost between 25 and 50 cents each (here in the US). They resembled stuffed animals, miniature versions, and they are actually erasers (the bubble machines I found at my local toys r us, not the supermarket). This is a great product. The only possible critiques I could mention are 1) The music that plays when you are using it will quickly get on your nerves and there is no way to shut it off. As a matter of fact I tried to cover the speaker and it still plays loudly. 2) The battery life isn't as great as one could hope and there's no plug included. It runs on 3 D batteries which cost me $7 at Target and after a few hours of play time and testing out which size toys were appropriate for the machine, the claw started to move much slower and I could tell it would die ...aka another $7 purchase coming soon--yikes. Other than that, I was disturbingly entertained by this toy and will be saddened when I no longer have it in my possession to play with whenever I like. I know he will have a blast with it though, and that's all I could have asked for. Hope my review helps, any questions please ask. ... show more

  • Looking for an honest opinion about the Claw?
Prince dan here w another review and this time it's on The Electronic Claw Game. I have to say, I didn't expect this item to be so fun, and to receive it SO FAST, it's crazy. It arrived before the arrival date so that's a plus. The item came secure, however I did have some difficulty setting it up. First off, it's hard to remove the wire that's holding the claw in place. I had to remove it w tweezers and it took me a good ten minutes to do so, but eventually I got it. Then, there is a white wire that's sticks out when the claw machine moves around and when I would play it would get jammed against the slot you enter prizes in but nothing a little tape couldn't fix. I taped it against itself so that it wouldn't mess up. Have had it since sept 8, and it's still working till this day. I know it's only been a few weeks but maybe I'll post another review about it at a later time. For those wondering if you can use real money on it. Yes, you can. It's big enough to take in quarters so if you're looking to make some kind of profit off this, it's do-able. Does come w fake coins for those using it for fun. Haven't had major problems thus far, just minor that I've already explained. I'm sure if I have a problem w it, the owner wouldn't hesitate to exchange or refund, at least I hope. I'm loving this item and so are my family. Claw is very durable and holds items in place so it's very easy to win. However, make sure if you're the type to wanna make a profit off this that when the item falls through the slot that it lands in the slot area because if it falls out the slot opening, the player still gets to play again for a free second round. I don't know what is it but it just has to make that landing impact, but if you're just looking to buy this for fun then don't worry about this. This claw machine supports the use of 2-3 in toys so don't expect it to be huge. It's about a foot high. The handles have to be broken in. I thought I had broken it when I first used it, but don't worry. They have to make this pop sound because something inside is holding the handles in place I guess for shipping purposes so if you buy and it feels like the handle is stuck, just pull until it snaps inside so that you can fully utilize the handles. Hope this helps y'all. ... show more
