  • Meticulous Assembly
After reading other reviews, I was SO WORRIED about this little machine working. But it was SO cute I decided to put my "big girl" pants to take the risk of buying it for my grandsons birthday. I also meticulously followed other other reviews for installation. OMG it performed like a champ and was hands down the hit of the party. Seriously, buy treats that are about 1 inch and don't buy heavy treats. This little machine is built more for the "love of the hunt" rather than the victory lap. And be sure you know, the other reviews are completely correct about the music. It's LOUD and AWFUL and the kids are oblivious to it. However for all the fun and smiles it brought I'd say the groans from the adults were worth it. All in all, I'm not sure our meticulousness in assembly was 100 percent the answer to our success (2 months of hard use) but we cannot account for any other reason, other than good luck. ... show more

  • Fun, but finicky wire
The wire for the claw stopped working after 1 try. Fortunately, after a few tears and some problem solving, we were able to get it fixed again. Not sure how durable this is. But for a $35 toy, that's expected.

  • Great fun for the price!
Got this for my daughter’s birthday. I read the reviews ahead of time so I had an idea of what we were getting. My short comment is don’t expect this to be the type of thing you’d see at the arcade…it’s small, works a bit simply, and can take some fiddling with to get it to work just right, but it is LOTS of fun and my girls are loving it! More info: The claws are kinda slippery and you have to line it up just right to get it to grab stuff solidly…not a bad thing, in fact that’s just like the real thing. It’s small and I suggest you get a grab box of small toys from here on Amazon to put into the machine as prizes. We used leftovers from a party favor toy assortment we had and they work great as far as being able to be picked up by the claws. Don’t over fill the bin with toys as it gets quite hard to pick anything up, only a few toys at a time in the bin works best. We found that lollipops aren’t great as they often get dropped by the claw. One time our cat sat on the top and the girls used it while he was on top…this caused a wire to pull out of the drive motors on the claw mechanism and I had to do some surgery on the wiring, so don’t run it with anything heavy on top of the machine. The song plays loudly the entire time anyone is playing with the machine and I put tape over the speaker on the bottom of the machine to mute it some, but it’s still pretty loud. the tempo of the tune speeds up as time is running out, so that’s kinda fun and makes it more realistic. Overall, I’d say that after a month of solid use, this is a quality toy for the money. Be ready to make some adjustments and keep your expectations realistic. It’s addicting and grownups will have a blast with this as well! ... show more

  • Looks cool, but so many things went wrong
I looked at a few different claw machines and would recommend to spend the extra $15 on a better one. They all look the same, but I had to buy a second because this one stopped working after just a few practice runs. 1. The sound is SO loud. I took a few reviewers suggestions and packed it with cotton balls which helped. 2. It can barely pick up the fun sized candy (like I had a team of 10 adults trying their hardest). Good luck with a dumdum sucker or very small toys. It just doesn't have the grip strength. I took a reviewer's suggestion to coat the claw tips to make them more gripy, but it didn't help much. 3. After all of this trial and error and minor modifications, the claw siezed up the day before the event I bought it for... ... show more

  • Fun but disastrous
TLDR: Item came broken but that’s fine. Easy fix. Although, with many issues, fun to use and awarding for friends and students. LONG READ:Much like all comments the machine is fun to use, but very loud. The sound is alright at a certain point. I muffled the sound a little with duct tape. I also found, if you want to end the sound quickly, all you have to do is tap the surface of where the prize goes out. Well, I actually didn’t find that out myself. One of my students pointed it out when they were playing. Another similarity with all comments is broken controls. the only control that was broken was going front and back. I’m gonna have a family member check that out! Though it is fine without that certain control since the machine isn’t full. I think it just depends on where you put the prizes. Also, my box had no coins. I have to use actual ones or a pencil to push the button for it to start. My item was probably a return and I got it. I didn’t return it back because of the hassle of boxing and sending. Might as well just fix it myself then waste for sending. Plus, my friends and students are having fun with the item despite it being broken! It’s the joy that counts! ... show more

  • Best Christmas present ever
I ordered this as a Christmas gift for my little girl. She had been asking for one nearly the whole year thanks to YouTube. It was received in new condition. The tokens are easily accessible. The one thing that was hard to do was get the plastic off the claw. We had to use a screwdriver in order to take the lid off to get to it. Once it was done though, it worked amazing. Warning….it does have a very loud sound. lol We stuck a towel underneath it and that helped a little, but it’s not something you’d want to sit next to for even 10 minutes while your child plays on it. ... show more

  • Xmas gift
Kids love it for a month but then easily get tired of it. You can’t lower the volume on the music

  • Works great!
I bought this machine for students in my college classes to motivate them. When students achieve certain milestones in my class they ear opportunities to use the machine to win prizes (like extra credit!). It's a great motivator for students and it's a lot of fun!
