  • Very cool build, solid value!
What can I say about this that hasn't already been said? It's such a cool build! - The parts are all quality and compatible with the big-brand - The cost for over 1600 technical bricks plus motors and lights is pretty solid! ($90 as of this review) - The instructions are fairly clear throughout - Be sure to pay close attention at all times - one misplaced connector can have major implications on a step 30 down the road - There were a few times where i had trouble discerning between grey and black parts as well. But that's partly due to my aging eyes - I doubt a teenager would have any trouble with it - Although this is targeted at ages 8-14, I'd be pretty reluctant to give it to an 8-10 year old unless they were brick overacheivers. It's got some delicate moments for sure - I know my kids would have struggled with it at 8 - mightily. - The set is well-chunked into manageable sections - five in total. Overall I just find this to be a really cool set. I did encounter some issues, but each of them could be traced back to my having made an error. And, they do a good job periodically pointing out potential pain-points, such as connectors that need to be adjusted before trying to join them - the plus-shaped ones in-particular. The printing quality is solid in the manual, and vision issues notwithstanding, it was pretty easy to follow. I did this over the course of five nights, these sets actually make my fingers hurt, so I don't like to push it. Plus, I'm in no hurry anyway, it' just equates to more enjoyment :D ... show more

  • Compatible with Legos, unclear difficult instructions and hard to piece together.
Packaging doesn't make any sense, instructions are not very simple, putting some pieces together are much harder than necessary which goes back to instructions. Otherwise compatible with Legos and fun(as well as stressful and unnecessarily difficult) to build. Would recommend their brand in the future especially for spare parts instead of a headache and muscle cramps lol. ... show more

  • Fun STEM Project for Adults or Older Teens. Great Instructions. Good Quality Materials.
This is a great older teen or adult project that takes time and finesse to create. It is an excellent STEM learning project for understanding gears and motors. There are 3 motors operating the fingers that need to be put together correctly for the glove to operate properly. The large “skin” covering pieces require care when snapping them into place. This is not uncommon with Technic-style pieces, though. My husband really enjoyed this project, and it looks cool sitting on the shelf. My teenage son likes the finger positions he can move it into when no one else is looking. It's a fun toy. * Overall Finished Size – 9” wide x 6” deep x 16” tall * The material quality was good. The pieces snap together well, and the final project is sturdy. * The 131-page booklet had great visual instructions, broken up into 441 steps, that were easy for an experienced builder to understand. The pieces you need for each step are clearly called out in a blue box above the assembly image, so before you start each step, you can pull out what you need. Pre-assembly of layered pieces is shown in a yellow box beside where you place them into the overall model. If you are a new builder, it’s very straightforward once you get the hang of it. * The pieces are separated into bags corresponding to the sections of the instruction booklet. You only need to open certain bags at a time, then work through that entire section of the instructions. For example, for the first section of instructions, you open bags 1-1, 1-2, 1-3, etc. Then for section two, you open 2-1, 2-2, 2-3, etc. This keeps you from sorting through all the pieces at once, and you are less likely to lose pieces. * On each instruction step, the already constructed section is “grayed out”, and the new pieces are shown in their true color, making it easier to see where each new piece is being added. * The bricks are compatible with the name-brand product and other standard-size bricks. * There were no missing pieces. * The recommended age of 12+ is appropriate if you have a very experienced builder. Younger children might be able to build it if they are experienced builders, have natural mechanical aptitude, or get help from an adult. * The thumb and four fingers move. There is a motor for the thumb, a motor for the left two fingers, and a motor for the right two fingers. * The movement is somewhat rough and kind of noisy, but it is comparable to other things we have built. * The set contains one blue twist light that has batteries pre-installed. The bottom of the light brick will pop off if you need to replace the batteries. It takes two LR41 or AG3 batteries, which are very inexpensive if you need to replace them. * The motor battery pack is rechargeable with a USB cord. The remote requires AAA batteries, which are not included. * The battery pack on-button is a little tough to press if you have large hands. We use a tiny screwdriver to push it. * The price was very reasonable considering the quality, design, number of pieces, multiple motors, remote, and battery pack. ... show more

  • An eye-catching display and challenging build
This robotic hand is a multi-day project, but it's worth the time and work. The motorized fingers are fun to control, the internal mechanisms are clever, and the finished piece looks like something out of a sci‑fi movie. The build is definitely on the advanced side—lots of gears, linkages, and careful alignment—but the instructions are clear. Once complete, it becomes an eye‑catching display piece. Overall, it's a great build for bigger kids or adults who love engineering‑style builds. ... show more

  • Cool build!
Very fun set to build and the finished product was very satisfying. My 9yr old did struggle a little bit towards the middle to end of the build and needed some assistance. This might be more suitable for early teens. The instructions were good and bags are all clearly labeled. All the pieces snapped in nicely without and issues and also held together good. All pieces were accounted for and of high quality too. Colors and fitment was very nice. If you told someone these were LEGO brand, it would totally be believable. The motors are a nice touch, although somewhat clunky movements, but so are the Lego technic stuff, they all feel a little clunky. Overall a very nice and enjoyable set to build for significantly less money than the big brand. Great stuff! ... show more

  • Impressive robot hand & 4 motors!
This is a complex and occasionally frustrating Lego Technic compatible build. In the end, it's worth it because it's an impressive looking model. There are four motors which control: - Ring and little fingers with one button press - Middle finger - Index finger - Thumb The battery box and motors use the retired Lego Power Functions connectors. The battery box is rechargeable with the USB-C cord. The remote takes 2 AAA batteries and requires a small Philips head screw driver to open it (not provided). Oddly, a folded instruction sheet for the remote is for a TF01 remote that is different than the provided remote. The main instruction manual has the correct one. I do have the TF01 remote from a third party Power Functions set, but it did not pair up with this battery box. When a button is pressed on the remote, it operates the motor for a controlled length of time and stops. It doesn't matter if the button is still being pressed. This is probably to protect the motors because the fingers have a limited range of motion. I was curious whether this was a limitation of the motor. I tested the motor on a different battery box and it ran continuously until I took my finger off the button. I tested a motor from another set and it had a controlled stop. The battery box must be controlling how long the motor runs. I didn't try the app, so I don't know if that can change that control limit. The manual is well done, but it's important to pay attention to everything because it's not fun having to back up to fix a mistake. With a complicated model with 1,622 parts, it's not that hard to make a mistake. Once building gets towards the upper hand elements, things get a little fragile. It's a cool looking mechanical hand and movement of the fingers will impress visitors (unless your kid posed the middle finger). To be honest, it didn't take me long to get over the finger movement. It's not as if it can reach out and grab something. Once this model gets broken down, there are a whole lot of useful Technic parts in mostly white and gray. Four motors is a great thing to have. A lot of the Lego compatible STEM kits put the motors inside a big honking brick that limits how it can be used. Having four motors brings new capabilities to personal builds at a great price point for a model of this size. ... show more

  • Disappointing Kit
It had several missing parts. They were mostly decorative so the model can be completed. It's a difficult build. Also the precision of the parts is not good which makes assembly difficult.

  • Not a Good Build
Not a fan, connections when building the outside skin/details are not precise enough to stay connected.
