I bought this to replace my ancient Google Nexus 7 V2 - finally decided to retire it and I wanted something inexpensive yet powerful enough for media consumption, browsing, reading, and light gaming. It's nice when you open the box and get surprised as I did here. I was not expecting the tablet to come with a case or screen protector and both were in the box and installed. What a thoughtful add on. The cover doubles as a stand for viewing in landscape mode, very handy. Setting up the device is the typical android experience so no need to go into details here - login with your Google account, restore some apps, install others, sign in and away you go. The screen can get quite bright, colors are vivid, and text is easily readable - everything you want in a good tablet. There are four speakers, two on each side, and they get very loud without distorting. Bass, as expected, is not well represented here, but I do not count that as a negative at this price point. Combine a crisp, bright screen, four loud speakers, and your favorite movie or show, and you will have an enjoyable experience. I had no trouble using DUO for family video calls, the WiFi connection is strong and the front facing camera is up to the task, The tablet can also take a SIM card so I popped in an extra one I had lying around for testing to see what it was like to make phone calls on a 10" device - let's just say 'hands free' is the preferred method here. Again, I had no issues with signal strength or connecting to 4G. There are both a front facing and rear facing cameras - the front is quite good for video calling and the back camera takes acceptable pictures. The camera app has the expected features and is well rounded for a tablet. I've been averaging 10+ hours of battery life - certainly nothing to sneeze at - and more than enough to get you through multiple movies and games. I do miss the headphone jack, but with LDAC and AptX-HD support sound performance is top notch with my various flavors of ear buds. No connectivity or range issues, nor dropouts at the standard 30' bluetooth range. Let me close by saying that this is a great tablet for the price, will do everything you need it to do (except play graphics and CPU intensive games), comes with some unexpected add-ons and can be expanded with a keyboard. I've retired my Nexus 7 and I'm not looking back. ... show more

We bought the tablet for my son, and ever since we got it, it has been a problem. We charge the tablet fully and after 3 minutes used it completely shut off and makes a noise. I would not buy it again and not recommend to anyone. Bad product and waisted my $100.

Update: My initial 1 star review resulted in a quick email from Umidigi asking how they could help. We went back and forth on a couple of emails and they provided me with a way to return the tablets and sent me brand new replacements. This was all done outside of the official Umidigi tech support website I had signed up for previously. So now we have new tablets and everyone is happy. I'm curious if these new tablets will have the same battery overheating issue eventually. Time will tell. For now I would say we had major problems and Umidigi was helpful in fixing them. Original review: Seemed like a great tablet at first. 2 months later both tablets constantly give warnings that the battery temperature is over 55°C and shut themselves down. We have literally left them in the refrigerator over night and it takes about 5 minutes after booting the tablet for the temperature warnings to start again. It's very concerning that both tablets took about 2 months and started doing the same thing. I've tried multiple Android tablet software fixes online and done factory resets...the problem remains. Umidigi tech support is pretty much non existent. I followed their long sign up procedure and now I've been waiting over a week for any kind of response. Buy a cheap tablet like this and you can get burned. I didn't want to get locked into the Amazon Kindle ecosystem so I bought these tablets. I may just go back to Kindle though as Amazon will immediately take care of any tech support. ... show more

I bought the 64gb tablet for my daughter for Christmas of 2023. Here we are in the beginning of February. And the tablet just stops working for no reason. It started off saying the battery is over heating above 55c. Even though we're in a cool environment and she was on it no more than 5 mins. To now it cuts of as soon as we cut it on. We've tried every troubleshooting method available with no luck. I wish I would've just saved my $100 and put it toward an iPad or something because this isn't good ... show more
