  • Excellent Value for Money!
This is a great little phone, a fabulous deal! The screen is larger than most budget phones, the lit area is 2.7"x5.9". The phone is lighter than most 6" phones. It comes with a clear TPU case, which is non-slip in your hand, and makes the power button recessed (helpful) The audio volume is adequate, and clips a little when set to "max". The built-in speaker and the earphone audio don't have much bass, but work ok for movies and conversation. The bluetooth audio is full-range and clear. As with all 2GB phones, this one may feel a little slow if you're used to an iPhone or another flagship. But it's great as a single-use phone, or for light-duty. Voice detection is reasonable, and the voice-translation app works, although a bit sluggish. For example, staring Chrome is 5 seconds, starting the phone app is <3sec. Boot time is fairly long. From power-off, it takes about 45 seconds to get to the lock screen, and then another 20 seconds to become usable. This phone locked into the GPS signal FASTER THAN ANY OTHER PHONE I OWN! I'm impressed. Google Maps and Maps.me work perfectly. The phone doesn't have the kind of compass sensor that shows you which direction you're facing, but that doesn't matter much in urban navigation. Transitioning from another Android is simple; just walk through the welcome screens. It may take a few hours to transfer all your apps and data. During this time, the phone may appear sluggish. Once that setup phase is complete, the phone is quite responsive. On my 4G connection, I easily get 30Mbps down and 18Mbps up. I'm happy with those numbers. The "hotspot"/tether function works fine (search the net for "tether umidigi apn"). On the Wifi, I get 40Mbps down and up. Both cameras are functional. I wouldn't shoot your wedding photos with it, but it's fine for recording day-to-day events. This phone is running Android-GO 12. That means split screen isn't available. Screenshots are super easy, via the "square" tasker button. The CPU-Z app reports that the screen is 270 dpi, I certainly can't see the dots with my naked eye. With mobile data enabled, Wifi enabled and Bluetooth enabled, this phone uses about 12%/day when idle. That's pretty good! Cons: The camera is pretty low-resolution, not enough for important memories. It's also not a particularly secure device: there is no fingerprint scanner and the face-unlock is slow. Overall: I recommend this phone as a backup or travel phone; as a single use phone (hotspot, GPS guide, translator, movie viewer, music player); as a phone for early teenagers (where you expect it might get lost or broken). ... show more
