First of all, I am a novice (beginner) embroiderer. I have gotten through two separate kits both purchased on Amazon and I have purchased the majority of my supplies on this platform too. My introduction is meant to explain that I have experienced what the ideal embroidery floss is - and this is the best cost effective & amount that you will find on Amazon to be able to embroider with. This floss is comparable to regular DMC (what I consider the Holy Grail of floss) and is much better than many of the giant packs of “embroidery/cross stitch/bracelet thread” packs offered on Amazon. It’s not quite DMC value - but the price (50 skeins for $12.99) is better than 80-90 cents per skein before the taxes plus the, shipping and handling fees. You cannot do better for the price & the quality. Second, I really appreciate the color choice I received. As a newer convert to embroidery and cross stitching, I of course don’t have every color and shade of floss available. This is a really good starter set especially if you aren’t sure what pattern or design you will be creating yet. I wish there had been slightly more blues and purples but that’s me being super nitpicky and knowing that I had no idea what colors were going to be in this pack. This floss is the typical 6 thread skein - very easy to separate and divide into the amount of strands desired. If you do not own any thread conditioner, you may want to purchase one. I use a little plastic circular container of beeswax that I run the thread through after separating it because I live in California and we have been hitting over 100 degrees daily. Any floss that arrives through the mail will dry out and become more dry because of that. Third, if you are familiar with multi-colored floss like DMC’s Coloris or any other variegated floss shades, this pack included four skeins of that style (and I was not expecting any variegated shades at all!).     • Perfect for Beginner's Embroidery
I decided recently to get into a new hobby; embroidery. I had been practicing using thread and needles that used to belong to my Grandmother. Well, most of that thread is gone, so time to look for new ones! At Joann Fabric, each skein of thread is about 60 cents. Doesn't seem much for 1 or 2, but it starts getting costly the more you buy. Then I found this pack. If I were to go to JF and buy the same number of skeins, it would cost me over $30 (if you include tax). Compared to that, this pack is a bargain. The threads themselves are beautiful, and have been perfect for my newly budding hobby. However, the only drawback is that these skeins are not numbered, so it would be difficult to buy specific replacements or follow certain patterns. The media could not be loaded. I haven't had the chance to physically use these but they feel very good quality. I like the different color choice and the variegated thread. They seem to not to have a lot number on them so might be hard to match if you run out during a piece of work. For what I want then for I'm happy. ... show more

I like this thread -the color is good and it is easy to smock and embroider with . The downside is that unlike DMC there are no numbers on the skeins so you can’t reorder a specific color if you need more for a project . I contacted the company and they explained because of “copyright laws”???? They can’t assign them numbers? You would need to order their color card with swatches on it and match it to the thread you physically have . There are numbers doe each color on the color card. They also explained you cannot order individual colors at this time. So if I need more of a specific color from the box of 50 skeins I ordered I would have to re order another box of 50.I will go back to using DMC . ... show more
