These do not require any assembly, they are ready to bolt to studs right out of the box. Use a level or laser to get them aligned, screw them in, and they're ready to store anything long. Perfect for dimensional lumber, conduit, pipe, trim/moulding, etc. I use these as a rack for conduit and PVC pipe above my workshop. I spaced them slightly less than 4ft apart, this allows them to hold 4ft or longer pipe sections. Very helpful. These hold a lot for their size. I thought it might be necessary to add some wire rope to make sure nothing rolls off, but it hasn't been an issue so far. Construction quality is very good. The finish is tough and durable. Should last virtually forever.

I got into woodworking a little over a year ago and the one thing I've always struggled with is storing the wood – it would usually end up on the floor making it difficult to walk around the garage. These wall mounted storage racks have been life changing. They are well-built heavy duty mounts that have allowed me to forget about the wood when I'm not needing it. The Ultrawall Lumber Storage Racks are really well finished. The quality of workmanship is top notch, from the welding to the excellent powder coat finish. It's pretty easy to install and comes with four lag bolts that are long enough that they'd hold well even when they're installed through drywall into studs. What they don't tell you is what size drill bit to use for the roughly 9/32" diameter lag bolts, and there are no flat washers supplied. Without flat washers you'd scrape the paint off around the bolt heads when you tighten the lags down. I rummaged around , found flat washers, guessed on the bit size, and on the wall they went. The two units are nice and rigid, and they may actually hold what they say, but they need to specify what drill bit size to use to ensure they'll get full thread engagement. I've installed other products by Ultrawall, and they have some great, high quality storage solutions. They just need to provide a little more information on this product. I'm always looking for more ways to do storage, I have lots of different things I need to organize in my garage and these are helpful for organizing long items like lumber, skiis, etc.

For starters, there is no assembly, which is great! Straight to hanging on the wall. Putting some left over lumber and insulation on these, I capped out about 150lbs or so. Much below the max rating. In regards to the rating, I don't know if I would push it. They seem well built and all, but the opening isn't huge for a massive pile of wood. You'd also have to take into consideration if you are mounting over drywall or directly to the studs. I am very happy with these and thankful for the extra storage.

These are quite heavy duty and free up space in the shop. The lag screws that accompany the set are of decent quality. The powder coating seems thick and of adequate quality. The welds aren't terribly clean, but appear to be strong. They install quickly and easily on wall studs so depending on what length of lumber you're storing, you've got 16" increments to work with. All in all, these are simple, sturdy, and worth the price.

I always review the product description again before leaving a review. With claims of "solid welding" and "smooth powder coating", I considered 4 stars as one mount was a little shy of perfection. The welding WAS solid but not quite pretty and the powder coating had some minor flaws. This doesn't concern me at all. But the holes aligned perfectly and the product was so solidly balanced that I could easily stand it on its "legs" without the slightest wobble. I found a better solution for my original intent which was to store two bunkbeds in my camper. (I just hoisted them to the ceiling with straps.) So I will probably mount them on the outside (hopefully removable if I find sturdy enough lift-off hinges) for my outdoor kitchen with 3 levels of storage/table top space.
