  • Great for home gyms, too!
I origninally got this for my TV set up in my living room. After playing around with the speaker set up, I just could not get the perfect"set up" for that room that didn't require additional shelves or table(s) to make it look good visually. Admittedly I was dissapointed as it sounded fantastic during my sound checks. I went ahead and set it up in my garage gym and holy moly. It's sounds rich and loud with the accoustics in my garage. I hook it up easily through my Iphones bluetooth and now I have a sound system that can shake the house while I am working out(sorry neighbors) At night it gets really intersting if not funky with those ambient lights that I really dont think is neccessary but whatever. The sound quality for it price is good. I've been using it now for almost 3 weeks almost daily. And by the way? I can still hook up a flat screen in the garage at some point to use shit set as it was designed for. I understand it is supposed to be a surround sound set up for a theatre setting, but good lord this makes a great system for you home gym goers.. Easy to set up with all the cords marked so no confusion with cross hooking things up. Small and compact with booming audio. The remote control is easy to use and has good range for adjustments. I mean wow, this worked out just perfect for me ... show more

  • Sounds Great
The system sounds fantastic and given the quality the cost seems right on the money. The build is well-made and it looks good overall, especially with the RG lighting in the back of each surround system and bottom of the subwoofer. This is my second system. The first didn’t work as well with connecting the speakers and the lighting. With this replacement, the speakers are working just as they should but the RGB lighting still doesn’t function right on the two taller speakers. They also connected easier and quicker to Bluetooth compared to the first system, for some reason. ... show more

  • Nice upgrade form my old 5.1 surround sound system
I got a 5.1 Surround Sound system from a top-notch manufacturer years ago. It’s been a great companion for over two decades, but when I saw this one, I knew it was time for a change. The main reason was the wireless rear/bass speakers and single front speaker bar, which gave me some flexibility. The installation was a breeze, and the speakers come with a comprehensive installation manual. As I mentioned earlier, I decided to set up the front channels as a single bar and mount it under the TV. I used the HDMI (Arc) connection for sound. The rear speakers and bass module were installed under a table and on the sides of the room, which made it easier to run the cables. I powered everything up, paired the base with the front speakers, and that was it! After using it for a week, I have to say that for the price, it’s a fantastic upgrade. The sound quality is just as good or even better than my old high-end speakers. The remote control is also very convenient, allowing me to control the functions I use on the sound system. Pairing it with my iPhone (via Bluetooth) produced some excellent sounds as well. The sound modes were also very useful for enhancing the sound quality. I tried out the RGB function, but personally, I didn’t care about the color and ended up turning it off. In summary, for the money, these speakers are great. They cost about one-eighth what I originally paid for my old speakers many years ago. The sound is very clear, there are plenty of options, and it’s a great buy. I highly recommend them! ... show more

  • The Apollo S70 Ultra provides full and immersive sound. But is not on the same level as DTS/DD, etc.
tl;dr - Decent sound, reasonably priced, not mainstream surround sound, annoying turn on/off sounds. What I liked: + Overall sound quality was surprisingly good. A full, mostly balanced sound. + Soundbar mode is convenient, making placement simple. + Separating the L/C/R channels makes the soundstage sound wider and more immersive. + Connection to the wireless sub/surrounds was immediate. + Lots of input options. BT connected to my phone easily. + Lighting is nicely diffused. What I was neutral on: ~ App functions well for the most part and is mostly unobtrusive, but I don't like when there are features that require an app and cannot be accomplished on the remote. Firmware updates I can understand, but my 15-year-old Pioneer receiver could adjust its EQ from the remote. And there is minimal lighting control from the remote. ~ I like that the main channels can be separate or be made into a soundbar. However, the cabling used in either form is kind of bulky and makes getting the speakers flush or as close to the wall as possible a bit of a challenge. ~ The sound speaks add to the immersion, but I wish they could go just a touch lower in volume. What I didn't care for: - This is a 5.1 speaker setup, not a 7.1. A true 7.1 setup is typically L/C/R + L/R Surround + L/R Rear Surround + Sub. That the two main L/R channels feature 2 drivers each does not add to the count. - Not a standard 5.1 surround setup. It does have "surround sound" but is its own thing. This speaker setup will not decode DTS, DD, or any of the typical mainstream codecs which is why the source needs to be set to PCM which is generally a 2-channel output. - The turn on/off tones are loud and annoying. I can't currently find a way to lower their volume or remove this 'feature' entirely. This alone could be a deal breaker for some, it's that annoying. - Piano black finish. Hate it. It makes the main speakers look cheap and they become fingerprint magnets (I have kids, they touch everything). The sub is a nice satin black, why this couldn't be used everywhere I have no idea. Notes: * This surround sound used here is more for sound immersion than accurate surround sound (i.e. correct audio placement in a 3D space). * The small sub does a decent job of filling out the low end, but don't expect to be rattling the floor/walls when the T-Rex stomps or when the bass finally drops. * In my opinion, for the price, even if it doesn't have accurate audio placement, this setup has an overall better sound profile than a lot of faux 5.1 soundbars that lack physical surround channels and can actually process DTS/DD. * I'd recommend the Apollo S70 Ultra for anyone who wants more immersion than a simple 2 or 3 channel soundbar can provide and doesn't want to spend a ton. ... show more

  • Excellent Value
This is a great sound system, especially at this price ($200). Excellent quality and the great value. The sound quality is great. The wireless subwoofer makes placement anywhere easy. The system looks great and high end. Not cheap or shoddy looking. So far I have no complaints. I will update if there are ever any problems.
