  • Absolutely amazing, so happy I got them
Model: U2624
Let me preface this with the fact that I have never owned a surround sound system in my life. They being said oh man is it amazing. Watched Dune earlier and I could feel the score in my soul and it was sheer beauty, so happy I got these. They were also super easy to set up. If you get them I hope you enjoy! And again, remember I don’t have any real experience so sound systems so this is just my feeling from this one. ... show more

  • Excellent for multimedia setup or small bedroom. Excellent for multimedia setup or small bedroom.
This is a really nice soundbar with an included passive subwoofer and dual rear channels. What's slick about the surround speakers is the fact that they don't require a wired connection to the soundbar. The right channel connects via bluetooth and then hooks to the left surround with a wire. This makes placement a lot easier since you don't need to run wires throughout the entire room. This is the third soundbar I've owned by Ultimea. Each tier of speakers is named after a Greek God or Godess. My first offering was the "Apollo" series, which ended up being best suited for music. I have it hooked to a record player in the back bedroom. My "Posiden" setup is the core of my home theater. This "Aura" is working very well as a multimedia speaker system. I frequently watch movies and play games on my Galaxy tablet out on the back porch when I'm not working on it or listening to music. The soundbar itself is pretty compact compared to the other ones. The sound is incedibly smooth and crisp. The mids are ever present, keeping dialog at the forefront, and the highs are just at the threshold of being exremely bright, without becoming shrill. Perfectly balanced. This has become a MASSIVE upgrade over the little bluetooth speaker I had been using for sound. Now for the sub. I'll be honest, I really wasn't expecting much out of a puny 4" subwoofer. I owned a Bose Acoustimass system back in the late 90's that was loaded with dual 5 1/4" subs and it never really impressed me, especially for the price. This little fellow, however, is a BEAST! I couldn't believe how much bass it pumped out! Design is everything and Ultimea did their homework well. This is a downward firing design in a vented box. The rear-facing port is tuned perfectly for this setup. The dimentions of the box are roughly 7 3/4"L x 5 5/8"W x 8"H and it literally puts out more low end than my 10" Sony that I've been using in the living room for years. Placement is also key, and if you're looking to squeeze every last bit of bottom end out of this setup, put the sub close to a wall, or better yet, in a corner, with the port facing the wall. Be forwarned, this may make it a little boomy, though. The entire setup is very aesthetically pleasing and blends in seamlessly with my electronics. They kept it simple for connections. Your only options are HDMI, USB, optical, and Bluetooth. I just connect my tablet via Bluetooth. It pairs right up every time. Music sounds just as good as movies. There are preset eq curves based on what you're listening to at the moment, as well, to simplify things. Of course, you have complete control and are able to adjust bass, mid, and high to your liking. This is a complete 5.1 Dolby Atmos system and I'm most impressed. It really sounds better than my Sony reciever. Excellent value for the price. My only complaint is the surround speakers aren't very loud. The right channel requires AC power, so it must have a tiny amp inside of it. I can hear them ok when they're sitting directly in front of me (they're supposed to be rear surrounds, but I was just demoing the setup at this point). According to the manual, you're supposed to be roughly twice the distance from the soundbar as you are from the rear surrounds. This placement just didn't work in my situation, so YMMV. I don't think I'm going to continue using them. This will exceed my needs with just the soundbar and subwoofer. I also find it odd that between the three products I own from this company, none of the connections are compatable with each other. I would have liked to be able to swap out subs or try the surrounds in the living room with my Posiden. Maybe they're compatable within each product line? Overall, I'm still very pleased in the performance of this compact setup. Well worth the price. Giving it a solid 4 stars. ... show more

  • Surprisingly Good Surround for the Price
Setup was quick and simple, and for under $100 this delivers legit 5.1 surround in a small room. Sound quality is solid for movies and TV—dialog is clear, the sub has decent low-end punch, and the rear speakers do add immersion (though they’re a little quiet). Music playback isn’t as clean—vocals can sound boxy—but it’s fine for casual listening. Build quality is better than expected at this price. Not perfect, but a great value if you’re upgrading from built-in TV speakers. ... show more

  • A Steal for Movies, Adequate for Music A Steal for Movies, Adequate for Music
Disclaimer: I received this product through the Amazon Vine program. I do my best to ensure I am not biased in my reviews, but please keep this in mind regardless. Introduction: I chose this product through Amazon Vine because I thought it would help simplify (and improve) our living room TV audio. Currently we have a 3-channel set up, but the center channel is too large to fit in front of the TV. Because of this, it’s far from ideal. The advertised features of the Aura A50 made it sound like a simple, easy-to-use system that would also give us surround sound. In the Box: In the box, you get the main soundbar, the two rear surround speakers (one of which is the master & wirelessly pairs to the soundbar), the subwoofer (which connects directly to the soundbar), 2 AC adapters, an HDMI cable, an optical cable, an interconnecting cable for the rear surrounds, some wall mounting hardware, a very comprehensive remote, and quick start/setup documentation. Set Up: Set up was about as easy as it can be. I set the soundbar at the front of the room, underneath our TV, and plugged in the subwoofer & power. Then, I placed the rear surrounds in their respective positions, connected the interconnecting wire between the two, and power to the master speaker. Finally, I connected the soundbar to my TV over HDMI ARC. That was the entire set up. The surround speakers paired automatically and everything was ready to go. Functionality: One thing that attracted me to this system was the ease-of-use factor. Our AVR sounds great, but requires a separate remote (and the knowledge of which buttons to press) to use, which isn’t super intuitive for others using the TV. With the A50 connected to the TV over HDMI, I can use my TV remote for volume, and it automatically turns on/off with the TV. But you’ll want to use the remote or app for adjusting sound settings, the brightness of the soundbar’s front display, etc. Sound Quality: Given the diminutive size of the subwoofer, sound quality was my biggest concern. However, I am happy to report that for movies and TV, this system sounds great. In our living room (probably around 100 sqft.), it had more than enough power to adequately fill the room, and vocals were always intelligible. The subwoofer also provided a nice amount of bass for movie effects & music. There are 6 preset equalization settings that you can choose from, but music and movie were the only two I felt sounded good to my ears. For music though, this system fell a little short. Musical vocals sound a little boxy/hollow, and the system never sounded correct for critical listening. For background music I had no issues with the sound, but it would not be my first choice for strictly music playback. Conclusions: Overall, for under $100, this is a steal for movies and shows. It’s incredibly easy to set up, while also being a minimally invasive solution for 5.1 surround sound. For music though, I would say that a nice pair of powered bookshelf speakers will be a more enjoyable and natural sounding solution. Note: The close-up picture of the connector I've attached to this review is actually for the subwoofer, just to document that it does not use a standard RCA/line-level connector. It seems to be a passive subwoofer with a proprietary connector that plugs into the soundbar. ... show more
