So much better than our previous wire crate. Made from heavier gauge wire with the downside that it weighs more overall which may be a concern if you intend to carry it with you often. We purchased this one primarily to replace our older crate which had a useless door locking mechanism - we would always need to block the door with a chair, or turn the crate so the door was against a wall in order to keep our little 12 lb dog from easily busting out. Guessing we've bought 8-10 crates over the years. This is BY FAR the most solid, nicest crate. Those crates at the big box and farm supply stores just aren't even close in quality, weight, etc. I love that it has 2 access doors. Seems very very sturdy and unable to be sprung by a curious or antsy dog. It's heavy, but I think it comes with a handle you can attach (we didn't). Two handles would be helpful, but you can grab it by the ends/wire frame. Definitely recommend. ... show more

This crate is harder to set up than the flimsier ones. You have to really push down on the top to hook the ends in place. And it's harder to lift and carry the crate into another room while set up because it's definitely heavier. I almost returned it for those reasons. But I decided it's sturdier & I'll learn to deal with it. I won't feel as free to take it down as often. ... show more

We had a crate before that we purchased for a dog we were about to get. The dog we got was a Jack Russell Terrier, who we named Jack. Jack destroyed the first crate we got. He would bang it, move it, and even got out a time or two, so I was looking for heavy duty crates, but they were all too big (& of course had reviews saying their dog escaped). Finally I had to pull the trigger and buy a new one because we were afraid he would hurt himself on the crate and settled on this one. Finally!! It’s been a month and Jack has not been able to damage this one (or the tray insert)! Even if he tries banging this one, it’s not as bad as it was with the thinner bar crate. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a bed for it that he doesn’t destroy!! (He has even destroyed a Kong bed!!). If you have a small dog that wants to destroy his/her crate, I would suggest this one. ... show more

I rescued a 1 year old very active, destructive, not house trained dog. If I had not had this crate I would have had to return him. With this crate we can cope with him and keep him safe. Everyone (except the cats) are very happy with his accomplishments.

LOVE this carte...got the 36 inch for toy aussie puppy..it comes with divider which is great..I put crate under a counter and opened side door and added divider to front to allow extra room for dog litter pan...yes he came littlerbox trained from breeder...then use the front door for main entry. its a huge crate and he loves its...really glad i got it. folds super easy and has a handle you can attach ... show more
