I've used Braun IPL in the past and I was surprised that this Ulike device actually has a feature that my Braun device does not have and that's the cooling effect. To be fair, it's not really ice-cooling as it's advertised, it's more like icy-hot feeling. However that feeling whether you call it Ice-Cooling or Ice-hot feeling, is great. It reduces the pain when using the IPL device which is the main thing that discouraged me from using my Braun device regularly. I find myself using this Ulike more often and I see promising results so far.

I had never had any experience with laser hair removal before so I can not compare the Ulike Laser Hair Removal system to professional laser hair removal service, but this home kit was very easy and painless to use at home. The kit comes with the handheld laser device, charging adapter, protective eyewear (which is super important due to the danger that lasers pose to the eyes), a razor to shave hair (any body hair has to be shaved short in order for the laser to reach the skin) as well as a convenient bag to store everything in. When using the laser, I found that patience is the key. Going over small areas such as armpits was fairly quick, but leg areas definitely took a lot longer. If you want quick results, this is not the system for you. It takes repeated laser exposure over a long period of time, but I did see results! The laser is definitely less painful than waxing or epilator systems, so that is a definite plus. The cooling sensation makes it so your skin just feels the cold rather than any zapping. Over my three weeks of use, the hair on my armpits and legs are sparse when they grow in, and the hairs are much thiner/finer than before. I anticipate that over the next few weeks, the hairs growth will be even less. Overall, this is a much more affordable alternative to professional laser that you can do at home!

I was pretty nervous to try using this product for laser hair removal. I’ve never used one of these at home or gone in for laser hair removal from a professional, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. However, I really like this product! The kit includes everything you need, including protective eyeglasses and a carrying/storage bag. The instructions were clear and the product was easy to use. I was scared it was going to be painful, but the cooling sensation is real and it does make it painless! If you’re looking for instant results, this is not for you. You have to commit to using this consistently for quite a while before you actually start seeing results. I assume it is probably the same with any laser hair removal though. Having something like this to use at home will definitely save you money in the long run. I definitely recommend giving this a try if you’re a candidate for laser hair removal!

I just started using this, but it works well so far. I used to have laser hair removal treatment, and this is far less painful. It also does not require any sort of gel. You use it on dry skin. The surface of the device is ice cold when you put it on your skin, and then when you push the button the IPL flashes a number of times depending on which setting you've selected. The light is hot, but it's kind of an icy-hot effect where it doesn't hurt but you're aware that without the cooling element it would definitely burn. I did smell burning hair on a couple of occasions, which the pamphlet indicates is normal if you haven't quite gotten all the hair shaved off. Obviously the thing is working if it's burning off hair. I used the highest SHR setting and didn't feel any kind of current or uncomfortable rubber band snapping sensation like with laser hair removal. I'm anxious to see if the results are better than I've had with laser treatment, which only sort of worked. I have very pale skin and almost black hair, and some of it is finally gone, but not all of it. Maybe this will get the rest. As a side note, I like the carry pouch and goggles that were included--very convenient!
