For effect I'd say these can easily rival pavo tubes. I don't have Nan light money but want quality photos and video. These right here are a game changer and I still have money left to eat.     • Great lighting tool with a broad spectrum of uses!
The media could not be loaded. The ULANZI Handheld RGB LED Light Wand is a value-priced RGB wand that does everything I need without spending 4x more for a comparable wand. The colors are spot on and compared to my RGB panel lights it is impossible to see any differences there or in the CCT spectrum. Given the wand’s overall weight I was a little concerned that it would be flimsy I guess is the right word and was really satisfied when I opened the box, it is exactly what I expected from Ulanzi. The light is a good solid plastic construction no rattles light wand. I think if I had considered this for something I would be using outdoors I may have reconsidered this unit for something with more heft but for my work it is perfect. Just something to give some thought to if you are looking for a wand that is more robust for outdoor use and the possibility of some abuse while in the kit box or bag. You can read the tech specs in the product description all day long if you want, I hope I can save you some time. It meets all of the stated specs. It is bright enough without being overpowering and is really designed for close subject use over expecting it to cover a broad space. The 20 light effects are cool addition and as much as I didn’t think I would go down that rabbit hole I found myself right out of the box using some of the effects to enhance a video I was working on to add a bit of humor and color to the project which worked great. When I played the vid for the intended audience, there were a few good chuckles only because of the wand’s lighting additions. Being able to screw the wand directly to a camera plate on a tripod is a big plus as well. And I find myself using this on a tripod as a fill light for some talking head stuff. I like the longer vertical light ability over a small panel light. It adds a different perspective. There is not really a downside for me that I have run across for my use. And I feel that I covered what to ponder if this is a wand you want. I guess if I feel like there was anything I thought could be different, the menu buttons took a few minutes to get used to over a wheel but never enough to slow me down. ... show more

I know some people in the reviews complain about how lightweight this light wand is, but not sure what they were expecting at this price. This works perfectly for adding an accent light to your photography or extra light for recording videos.     • Battery life sucks! Not super bright.
This light has multiple functions which is cool. It’s not nearly as bright as I hoped. And the battery life is not great. you are lucky to get an hour. I do not have any other of these types of lights to compare it with so not sure if that’s across the board on this kind of light or just this light.

    • Bright and lightweight
The media could not be loaded. The ULANZI VL 119 is more versatile and brighter than most video lights selling at this price point. The CCT can be adjusted over an extremely wide range, and the brightness is fully variable. The wand is so lightweight it can be handheld while shooting to fill that dim area, or it can be mounted anywhere you can find a 1/4 inch stud-there is a socket in the base. The 2600mAh on board battery is a nice balance between too small (many have an inadequate 2000mAh cell) and too heavy to handle. The wand lights up the built in diffuser uniformly, so no hotspots can be seen. In RGB mode, it can achieve whatever color you fancy, and is programmed with the usual slate of novelty modes - Cop Car, Fire, Lightning, etc., etc. Very easy to use- I literally charged it, unwrapped it and rambled through the intuitive menu, as shown in the video.
