Says it fits the GoPro 8 buy does not. Luckily I also have GoPro 7's and just used that camera. Nice and covenant for use of a mic where the Go Pro adapter is needed. Holds the Rode ME mic with the shoe mount but the mic does slip in the mount so watch it so you do not drop a mic. Overall love the Camera holder and cleans up wires and adapter just hanging. This thing is absolutely awesome. Does not add much weight and seems very sturdy. Nice tight package. I use it with an Edutige etm-001 external mic with a lavalier dead cat. Works perfectly.

Nice case. Lightweight and sturdy and nicely accommodates the adapter needed to transition from Go Pro to mic but....the case also nicely surrounds the lens making the typical rubber lens cap now unable to fit. I contacted the company and they said they would mention it to management but had no suggestions on what to purchase in the mean time.

This made my vlog life easier, I don't need to worry about the mic adapter hanging out and the microphone be all over the place, makes everything look neat.

I was so excited when I saw this on Amazon. I was impressed it had a sleeve to hold the mic adapter and that was the selling point for me; I couldn't imagine that bulky adapter just hanging off the camera while using it. This seemed like the perfect remedy. Well when I opened the box I noticed I could not get the back to slide off like instructed. Once it came out hard and "violently" I was sure I broke it as it made a loud "crack" sound when it cleared it's locking mechanism. The the big surprise. The mic "ports" in camera are located on side under a sliding door that opens from the bottom of the camera. Guess what? That part sits in bottom of the unit with no access to opening it. Tried putting it in camera after opening door but of course it would not go in as opened door would not go through the little window in a way to allow the camera to turn and rest on the bottom; just doesn't fit. I was also surprised when camera is in the case how loose the camera is while in the box, not much of a fit. So that is my story. Not sure why it gets so many great reviews, which I depended on when making this purchase. Doesn't make any sense to me. Regretably I will be returning it. Not sure now what to buy as I really liked the adapter holder.

The whole reason I purchased this case was because it solved a lot of the issues I had with setting up a rig to use my GoPro for vlogging. Why? 1. This is the perfect setup. The GoPro easy easy to add/remove from the case. 2. It has a place to store that stupid external mic adapter that you have to purchase from GoPro in order to use an external mic. 3. The cold mount on the top of the case raises the external mic high enough that it is out of your shot even with the wind shield on it. The equipment I use with it is: 1. GoPro Hero 7 Black 2. GoPro external mic adapter 3. Movo VXR10 microphone

This was a recommendation by a youtuber travel vlogger. This arrived on time before my trip to Arizona and I plan to purchase the other kind to be able to attach a flash for my GoPro. This housing works best with the shorty tripod selfie stick. If you want to use a Gorilla Pod, you will probably need to buy a separate screw to keep the housing stable.
