  • [ Parameter ] - The maximum wattage is 660 watts and the voltage is 250V, allowing you to use a high wattage bulb. The adapter will not convert the voltage, if you have 110V, it will keep 110V. Likewise, 220V will not change. This adapter is only suitable for physical dimensions.

    • A fix for a Stone Age floor lamp

I bought a vintage floor lamp at an antique store - heavy brass construction, steel base. My only concern was did it work … plugged it in, it worked. After a few days I decided to replace the bulb with an LED bulb. To my surprise, I discovered the bulb fixture was huge, and the LED bulb’s “plug” was too small. Went to a hardware store, found an Edison bulb with the same size “plug” but it didn’t connect. Order this adapter and didn’t expect it to work (I figured I’d end up having the lamp rewired), but I removed the glass shade, removed the original bulb. I carefully screwed in the adapter (hint, be sure the lamp is unplugged). Re-attached the glass shade. Screwed in the LED bulb, turned it on, and it was high noon! Worked very well! ... show more

Quality / well constructed item. I'd never known about Mogul bases before until I unscrewed the old bulb, saw the base, then headed to Google. I spent a week searching for replacement bulbs and never considered an 'adaptor' might exists until the Amazon algorithm clued me in during a search for bulbs.     • easy to use, but didn't work with 3-way bulb

This adapter saved me from paying a ton for more mogul bulbs--hugely expensive and seem to not last long. The bulb mom had worked, but the 3-way feature didn't, so I will get a different one to try. Otherwise a great option to keep your heirloom light and not have to redo the whole electric system.

this insert came quickly and works perfectly. Replacement bulbs for this excellent mega base floor lamp have gotten quite expensive, and they was an efficient way to continue to use the lamp, at least partially (it is a 3-way unit).
