The hosing goes on very easily without falling out, which is a problem I've had with portable air conditioners in the past. I'm not a fan of how it seems to stop when it hits the temperature it is set to. I don't like the fan turning on and off while I'm sleeping. If it can be turned off, I don't know how. ... show more

The setup is dead simple. It can take a couple of tries to get the vent tube situated. It’s light years easier than even the easiest window unit. And it will work with a huge variety of window types where a window unit can’t. It is quite loud, more so than any window unit I’ve ever seen. It’s also rather heavy but not much more than a comparable window unit (and you can roll it around once unpacked). It most definitely does not cool as well as a window unit. Even a comparably smaller window unit will do a noticeably better job. It does work and I don’t regret buying it, but I’ve yet to see it cool my bedroom (roughly 30 square feet) down to 70 degrees even on relatively cool days. ... show more

If you’re looking for a super easy and effective AC unit, this is the one! This is the second portable from this brand that we have bought. Our central unit works when it wants too, and just doesn’t keep up with this Texas heat. We have a 10,000btu in our kitchen and the 12,000btu in our living room where it is large open space, and it has made our house much more comfortable. Not only is it portable (which means it can go camping with us, or can easily be moved to another room by rolling instead of having to carry it), it also has 4 different functions including AC for when it’s hot and heater for when it’s cold. It’s not super heavy, but works better than the wall unit we initially tried. It comes with a window connection to vent the hot air out also which was a little challenging at first, but we trimmed it a bit and it works like a charm. The connector is very sturdy also, so if you are like me and have a pet that likes to try to sneak out of the house from the seal sides, they cant wiggle the side panels loose! ... show more

Light enough to be easily moved about, yet still heavy enough to feel substantial & not overly cheap or chintzy.     • Dehumidify function is counter acted by machine drawing air from inside

Great air conditioner, turned my storage shed into an icicle. But the humidity stayed high (I live near the coast) and it finally dawned on me, the air was being pulled from inside for the condenser, then exhausted through the hose. So any moisture removed by the air conditioner mode OR THE DEHUMIDIFY MODE, was replace by the air drawn in from outside. The only way for this type of unit to dehumidify and air condition is to have an outside inlet and outlet for the condenser air.
