really good, only thing i’d change is you can’t turn it off “eco” like there no option to make it so it doesn’t auto shut off once it reaches temperature. it’s a little on the louder side but i prefer it because it’s good background noise. the remote control is good, the ac itself makes a little jingle noise when you adjust the settings/temps. overall it works really well, like almost too well i get cold now lol ... show more

The reason for my low review is a few things. First thing is the window sealing plate, the window ceiling plate does not stay in the window does not have a lip on each end so it will not fall forward or backward. So if you set it down in the window, it’s not actually tall enough to fit the exhaust duck in it. if you set it down in any window, then it will sit too low to fill in it, so you have to try to toggle it on the top ledge of the bottom of the window, it’s difficult to explain and for this expensive of a unit, they should at least provide a windowsill plate that actually works in several windows and is easy to use without extra tape, extra pieces of wood to support it so it won’t fall or whatever you try to rig it up with. It is not usable by itself at all and without it, you cannot run the unit, so you’re very much stuck with a very cheaply used window sealing plate. The next thing is when you go to move the unit to drain the water when you move it the water just spills right out of the unit, not sure what it’s spilling out of if it’s just an open reservoir inside of it but it spills everywhere. It is well spilled everywhere and did not register full at all, that was frustrating. One small thing is there was a small little tiny screw that came in a small plastic baggie and there is nowhere in the directions to explain what that screw is for so there’s probably a screw that needs to do something that I have no idea what it needs to do. It is supposed to be quiet not as loud, it is extremely extremely loud, you will be able to hear the unit running throughout your entire house. That’s fine just don’t advertise that it would not be extremely loud. I’m leaving a few photos of how the window plate would not fit easily in any of the windows in our house. The first photo shows me kind of setting and holding up the window plate, the second photo is it sitting in the window where you can see that it just sits way too low because they did not get any give any room for the actual duct to fit in it and have it sit in a window. The last video shows how you have to use a tremendous amount of tape and then be extremely careful that you don’t push the plate too much because it will pop back and out so you have to be very careful when you’re clicking in the duct and then maneuvering the unit because the duct is hard it’s not flimsy and if you move it without securing the duct, it will pop it back out. Unfortunately, the unit cannot be ran without the window plate, and they did a very poor job of providing that plastic. A regular size window as well. The plate is way too big and you’re going to have to find something to cut that hard plastic, most bedroom windows are the same size as my windows and the plate was way too big and needed to be cut. It’s very very hard plastic so you would need a saw to do so. Poor design it’s sad that the unit works, but unfortunately you cannot run it without the correct window plate and ductwork. ... show more

    • Loud with a few quirks, but does what we need it to!

This unit is VERY loud. However, it gets my room cold and keeps it cold. As someone who likes sleeping with a fan on- the noise doesn’t bother me, but it is undoubtedly the loudest AC unit I’ve ever owned. Installation was easy. We’ve used it almost daily for about 2 months now and we haven’t had to drain it at all, which is nice. The remote control works great. But I do wish the AC didn’t make a beeping noise every time you pressed a button to adjust temperature, fan speed, or mode. The LED display on the AC also cannot be adjusted. I had to start wearing an eye mask to sleep because it’s super bright. Also: the “Sleep Mode” setting is so confusing to me. I’ve read and re-read the manual several times, and it says that Sleep Mode is supposed to make the AC fans run more slowly/quietly, but every time I put Sleep Mode on, the AC eventually just turns off a few hours later. I’m not sure what’s up with that. If you need it to run more quietly, I’d suggest just lowering the fan speed to Low instead of High. Anyway, this unit is in my bedroom, which is about 10x10ft. When we leave the door open and put a fan in the hallway, we are able to get this unit to cool down both the hallway and one other bedroom (that bedroom is about 10x20ft.) Obviously it doesn’t keep the other bedroom icy cold, but it’s comfortable and not sweltering. My bedroom, however, is like an ice box with this thing. For its size you get a great deal. If this is in a bedroom you will literally freeze. A living room it can maintain a decent temperature. For a larger space I bought the 12,000 btu and that one is in the living room the 8,000 in the bedroom and it’s like I have central air! I live in florida so you know it gets HOT this whole week is going to be 90° or higher especially with the humidity, and this thing has been such a great help! It keeps my bedroom nice and cool even with my 2 tvs and 2 ps5's on at the same time, there is a "night time mode" on it to make the ac more quiet for easy sleep, I find it very reliable as its portable and with it being small it dosnet take much space! I've found there to be no leakage and I love the little remote it comes with as it makes it super convenient ... show more

    • Loud and just okay.

Given time, this unit will definitely cool down a room, the difference between the temperature is noticeable, and if you let it run for multiple hours without stopping, it will get noticeably chilly even. It does work, but that being said, the unit is INCREDIBLY loud. I have to turn my phone volume to near maximum in order to hear anything. The loudness is in fact so bothering that It becomes complicated to watch tv without worrying that the volume of the tv will bother the downstairs neighbors. This can be remedied by investing in noise cancelling headphones, but I wish it could be quieter, sleep mode does not make a difference in sound level. Installation was complicated, I had to modify the panel by cutting part of it off in order for it to fit my window, after which it left a jagged looking edge on the panel. The hose was easy to put on and install. The remote control feels relatively cheap, but it does indeed perform its intended function. The unit is fairly compact all things considered. The fan speed is okay, but nothing incredibly impressive. I will note that the fan sometimes sounds like it’s scraping. Overall the unit will cool your room to a comfortable level, but you should expect this unit to have noticeable problems. (Auto evaporation function works, review based on mid 80s to low 90s weather) I will say that I expected more from this, it exudes a very cheap vibe. This is a very good example of “you get what you pay for” I would urge anyone looking at this to explore better options before you find yourself wanting something better. ... show more

I bought the Uhome 8000 BTU portable AC to help cool a room where installing a window unit wasn’t ideal, and it worked out really well. Setup was straightforward, and I was able to get it running pretty quickly without any hassle. The cooling is surprisingly strong for a compact unit. It brought the temperature down fast and keeps the room comfortable even during hotter days. I also like that it has multiple modes — the dehumidifier feature helps a lot with humidity, especially in the South, and the fan option is useful when you don’t need full cooling. It’s also convenient being portable. I’ve moved it between rooms when needed, and the wheels make that easy. The noise level is what you’d expect from a portable AC — noticeable, but not unbearable.
