  • A must have in any piano library
Format: Paperback
This is one of the best piano books written, ever. Not so much for the musical content (which is very good), but rather, the technique portion. I am using this book in conjection with weekly piano lessons and my teacher has said this book will greatly help any piano student from developing poor and damaging techique. YES! Poor techique can do damage the hands and wrists. I strongly suggest using this book to make sure you are practicing proper techique. ... show more

  • Excellent Book
Format: Kindle
Another great book from Joseph Alexander. Jennifer covers everything I was missing. She is an excellent writer and teacher. The audio examples are great. I downloaded the sample for Kindle and wanted more. The Kindle price is a crazy low for what you get in this book. I am thinking about buying the paper edition. ... show more

  • A good book mostly not about advanced piano technique
Format: Kindle
This is a good book, mostly not about advanced piano technique but it is well written. All advice are written in a way that they can be understand and applied.

  • Very helpful
Format: Kindle
This book speaks my language :) It explains things in a way I understand. I'm so grateful I stumbled upon this book. It isn't so basic that it's boring but at the same time it's not so advanced that it's over my head. The exercises and fingering really gets my brain and fingers working together. Also having the audio makes it much easier for me who is naturally a person who plays by ear. ... show more

  • techniques for children and small women
Format: Paperback
Being an adult male, I found the ergonomic suggestions inappropriate. You can figure out the intended reader by the suggestions for spacing, height, and arm placement. One clue is the suggestion to sit on books and touch your elbows together while touching the keys in front of you. Obviously, the book is intended for a small person such as a child or small woman. I verified this having my wife try the suggestions. Thus, the techniques are not appropriate for me. The book should be edited to mention intended readership. ... show more

  • The most useless piano book. Do not buy!
Format: Paperback
1. Full of wrong fingerings 2. No consistent method. 3. Waste of money and time. If you are beginner get Alfred Library - Scales, Chords, Arpeggios and Cadences Other than that start practicing Schirmer's Library - Scales&Finger Exercises The best is Czerny (Op.599, Op.849, Op.299, Op.636, Op.740, Op.261) and Hanon (Book 1 & Book 2) ... show more
