I had an ugly stick combo identical to this one, but I lost the top half on my last fishing trip. So I ordered this combo because it works and gets the job done. Sturdy practically unbreakable The ugly stick name has been around for a long time. The reel is nice too . Very smooth and cast well I use mine for Fishing for blue catfish and snake head in Maryland. Excellent pier fishing rod And the rod and the real handles heavy braid Fishing line with with ease. The Rod tip is sensitive to detect those septal bites yet Sturdy enough to handle the big ones. Since I now have an extra reel that is identical, I am going to rig it with different pound test line. I have 2 of these, and have had zero problems. High quality, and the Spinning Reel hasn't had any issues. They've been on dozens of fishing trips - mainly lake shore. I've had other rods, and this one is definitely my favorite. Honestly, it even just looks cool. Well worth the price.

This product has a real decent rod that I like I believe you could possibly use it for pier fishing as well as River fishing and lakes the real is not so solid.But one thing for sure you can't complain on the price for the rod and reel combo.
